Top 10 Current Favorite Games of All Time (in alphabetical order) Clair Obscura: Expedition 33 Final Fantasy VI Ghost of Tsushima Lord of the Rings Online Mass Effect Trilogy Max Payne Planescape: Torment Sam and Max: Hit the Road Secret of Evermore Sim City 2000

I beat "Clair Obscura: Expedition 33" over the holiday weekend. It's entered my Top 10 Games of all time list. What it has to say on grief, art, internalized ableism, and family is INCREDIBLE. I immediately began a new game to play through it all over again, something that I'd never done before!

A lovely story of everyone's favorite bear! It's not quite as good as the previous two (P2 is PERFECT), but it's still a fun time! This film really does suffer from the lack of Sally Hawkins, though. #Filmsky My ★★★★ review of Paddington in Peru on Letterboxd boxd.it/9J6sGj

So stupid. So self-aware. So fun. #Filmsky My ★★★½ review of Heart Eyes on Letterboxd boxd.it/9IUcIz

Criterion Challenge 2025 #20 - Spine #451-499 I can finally call myself a true cinephile! Prepare for me to be REAL pretentious about this if you talk to me about movies! #Filmsky #CC2025 My ★★★★★ review of Jeanne Dielman, 23, quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles on Letterboxd boxd.it/9Ip0RH

For reference here is what the Dust Storm moving through the Bloomington, IL area looks like. This dust storm is heading towards southern Ford and Iroquois counties! Use caution if traveling! #ILwx #INwx

Is this like in The Mummy when Imhotep’s face becomes a giant sandstorm and he tries to eat Brendan Fraser

In all my years living in Chicago (or Ohio) I have NEVER seen this warning before. I knew our economy was likely heading towards a real-life version of Grapes of Wrath anyways, but this is ridiculous.

How you know a film/show set in Chicago had set designers that have never been to Chicago... (IRONHEART trailer)

For what it is worth: "Clair Obacura: Expedition 33" has some of the most incredible worldbuilding that I've seen in any form of media in a LONG time. It helps that it is a ton of fun to play and is filled with earned emotional beats all throughout. (I'm only on Act II - no spoilers, please!)

This movie genuinely made me wish I had more time with my yiayia. All in all, it's a comfortable movie that doesn't pretend to be anything but just that. I do wish they focused more on the nonnas than Vince Vaughn, though. #Filmsky My ★★★ review of Nonnas on Letterboxd boxd.it/9F5UnL

Sometimes, you just want to watch Denzel do his thing. It helps that "his thing" is something that he does better than anyone else. #Filmsky My ★★★½ review of John Q on Letterboxd boxd.it/9ExzNb

Criterion Challenge 2025 #19 - 1980s Do you all remember when kids' movies were allowed to be WEIRD? Also, what a way to end a kids' film! #filmsky #CC2025 My ★★★ review of Time Bandits on Letterboxd boxd.it/9Ep8pb

This movie is not good, but it IS watchable thanks to Denzel. He clearly enjoys doing these, so I have to give him a pass. Of all of our modern-day cinema icons, he has earned the right to do whatever the hell he wants. #Filmsky My ★★½ review of The Equalizer 2 on Letterboxd boxd.it/9DRLZf

Gov. JB Pritzker on Wednesday plans to sign an executive order to restrict the mass collection and sharing of autism-related data for Illinois residents, in response to the country’s top health secretary’s rhetoric around the cause of autism.

Thumbs down to this new Samsung update. Killed my battery life and made the UI more Apple-like. If I wanted a shitty Apple phone, I'd just buy a shifty Apple phone.

I went to Kent State, so today always has a very different meaning for me than a lot of my friends who didn't attend. And given *gestures wildly at everything* it is especially sobering this year.

In the hands of any other director, I don't think this would have worked as well as it did. But Coogler is proving why he will likely go down as one of the greats of this generation. Absolute banger of a film! #Filmsky My ★★★★½ review of Sinners on Letterboxd boxd.it/9AVz9x

It's genuinely a film that I enjoyed from beginning to end. It let's it's emotional core just BE. Pugh and Pullman anchor this and Harbour's scene with Pugh is an absolute standout. #Filmsky My ★★★★½ review of Thunderbolts* on Letterboxd boxd.it/9AUvZx

Just finished a double feature of THUNDERBOLTS* and SINNERS, and what an absolute blast at the theater today! #Filmsky

Criterion Challenge 2025 #18: William Friedken's Closet Picks Imposter Syndrome: the Movie. Insane that they made a musical of this. (An incredible transfer where every one of the gorgeously shot frames popped out on my TV.) #Filmsky #CC2025 My ★★★★½ review of 8½ on Letterboxd boxd.it/9AtIpX

Managed to make it through April with out one “it’s gonna be May” meme. The world is healing.

Agatha of Little Neon by Claire Luchette 5/5 Stars This story of a Catholic nun questioning both her place in the world and in the church is heartwarming without being saccharine and heartbreaking without being cruel. In the end, all I wished for was the best for Agatha of Little Neon. #Booksky

Movie you've watched more than six times using gifs. ("Hard mode" No Star Wars, Star Trek, or LOTR)

You know, I make a conscious choice to cook one vegan or vegetarian meal a week. Looks like I might have to do a LOT more than that going forward.

So far, I'm surprised how much I already knew. I always figured I was well below conversational, but maybe I am not as poor at it as I thought I was? I am absolutely NOT fluent and won't pretend I am. #Deafsky #ASL #deaf #Lingvano

Riot Fest lineup was announced and it is genuinely the first one in a long time where I want to be there all three days and would consider splurging on a VIP pass for - but I have rehearsals for a show I'm genuinely excited for! Why does everything good happen all at once!

Criterion changed 2025 - 1970s WOW. A stunning work of art - both thematically and stylistically. Anchored by three incredible child actor performances. Will be thinking about this one for a while. #Filmsky #CC2025 My ★★★★★ review of Walkabout on Letterboxd boxd.it/9uEtVx

Tripped and fell on my run today. There was an immediate surge of absolute terror as I fell "I cant shatter my elbow AGAIN!!" Laid there for a few moments scared to move but Im fine. Skinned knee and badly bruised toes excepted. Did not want to do another year with only one arm.

This movie is way better than it has any right to be. It feels like a genuine love letter to 70s cat-and-mouse crime thrillers with incredible performances by Law and Hoult. #Filmsky My ★★★★ review of The Order on Letterboxd boxd.it/9toVIF
