It’s so important to have friends/colleagues/peers from different age groups. It really helps in orienting one’s perspectives. I’m in my 40s and depending who I speak with, I realize I know a lot and not enough at the same time. I can be both a teacher and student. I hope to never forget that.

As I get older I realize why I enjoyed the more humorous versions of Batman. I could not suspend my belief and root for a rich dude using his ridiculous wealth to beat folks up in costume. It’s like rejoicing over a tech guru’s choice to bulk up & beat up folks instead of working through his issues.

Baby Girl wanted to challenge herself by playing music from one of her favorite musicians. She learned today that he passed away in 2020 and was sad that she won’t get to meet him in person and said “I hope Bill Withers was proud.” I genuinely think we’ve got ourselves a musician in our midst.

I was born and lived in Cameroon Africa for the first 11 years of my life and as a diaspora child from an African Dad and a Black southern mother, seeing Ryan Coogler beautifully bridge that gap in one scene in Sinners truly moved me. It’s always how I’ve viewed US and it does my heart good.
