I’m glad. You know how the internet destroys nuance lol. I wanted to make sure I said it.

It might be a fault in my character to not trust them, but I keep feeling like everyone piles on the poor and middle class for not doing enough for being in the circumstances they are in. But billionaires who have all the power need to be protected. (Not insinuating that’s what you said)

I agree to disagree. It’s really hard to get to those numbers without exploitation being involved. I have no problems with folks being wealthy. But Billions? GDP type number? I’m hard pressed to find a good person who can hoard that kind of money in good conscience.

Between lousy contracts, shady lawyers & accountants, they’re pretty much commodities being traded by “Owners.” I ask should Billionaires make money off of folks’ bodies? But that’s not the cute poll questions we’ll get on “news” sources… but I digress. I get why my kids hate asking me questions.

And to Black and marginalized creators remember that you are enough. Expect respect and fair compensation for what you bring to the table. Settling for being tolerated seldom gives us the freedom we seek.

Just as patriarchy is damaging to men, “whiteness” is damaging to white folk. It’s a bubble of privilege that one can only notice if one chooses to grow. But it’s hard to step away from the comfort of being the default for everything.

Instead there’s romanticizing of a past that most of us couldn’t survive. The way the rich skillfully deployed race as their escape hatch gave way to the many ways they currently distract us from going after them. We can tackle many issues simultaneously, not just the ones we’re comfortable with.

I empathize. I’m almost there and I haven’t sold anything yet 😭

Gonna have to drag some folk kicking and screaming into a better tomorrow, or let them perish in their own mess.

One of these days I’ll type up long format blogs of my notes, because my blurbs ain’t doing this book justice.

— True love is different from the love that is rooted in basic care, goodwill & attraction. — Do not expect to receive love from someone else you don’t give yourself — True love is unconditional but to truly flourish, it requires an ongoing commitment to constructive struggle and change.

— When love is present, the desire to dominate & exercise power can NOT rule the day. — Lead with a love ethic that says: Everyone has the right to be free, to live fully and well. — Love is as love does… It’s active. It’s a choice.

It delved into love being far more transformative than the commercial versions, that are promoted to advance agendas that cause us to know little about being loving. This book had some bars! Here are a few snippets from the book that I quickly jotted down.
