Father of two, enjoy videogames when I get the time. First home computer was a Sinclair Spectrum. Made it to Élite on the BBC B.

I live 11hrs from where I was born, if I walk really slowly.
Really slowly.
About an hour if I walk normally.

Yeah. Some clown across the road from me had a Trump flag up for months. They're here too.
I'm as displeased at this situation as you are.

My wife loves that movie! No taste, which might be why she puts up with me...

To be fair, Jaws had its share of sequels. Were any of them as good as the original?

I used to work right across the road from there. When I was young and had knees!!

(Distilleries are notorious for being hot, heat being a critical part of the process and all. And this one has the Still Room in a south-facing hall that's all glass down the side. Would have been miserable today!!)

Used to have the Medical Deck music as my ringtone. Fantastic game in every possible way!!

Why did I think Jez San had died?
The thing is, he could have donated to them at any time for decades, but he's waited for this reprehensible bunch of goons...

That looks pretty fantastic!

Real power doesn't shout. It doesn't need a pointless parade.
It's clear he doesn't get that.

Yeah. That was always disappointing. A two-man ship was just destined to be brilliant fun!!

Mines of Terror!!
Yeah, I was too young to get far in that one...

Oh that brings back some memories. My brother used to work there!

Could you not just glue big levers onto the switch rockers?

Was this, by any chance, to do with untested code being rammed into production? 🤔

Aww. It's heartbreaking when the little guys die. 😞

My mum used to use sour milk to make scones, and they were amazing.
Now she uses fresh milk, but mixes some lemonade. Still amazing.
But my heavily-undermined point still stands!

Came for this reboot. Not disappointed.

Astonishing that they crammed this into the original Playstation. Ridge Racer came a long way on that machine!

There was a Horizon episode race The Race To Ruin, where somebody calculated how much effort SDI would cost. I think it was the full Shuttle fleet for 10000 years...

Both my car and my wife's have cruise control that you can switch over to a speed limiter. Set it to the speed limit of the road and it's one less thing to think about.
I don't like driving on cruise control unless the road is super quiet.

Even up in Scotland we're familiar with Dick Lovett. Pointed it out to my son a couple of years ago to be met with some confusion. He's 16 now; I expect significantly more mirth!

I'm not sure of the environmental benefits of hoarding 180000 litres of heated potable water per home...
I think the dried-up rivers and aquifers might become a problem.

Keep the Dreamcast, gift the GameBoy, chuck the Atari. I didn't know anyone with an Atari growing up, so I have basically zero nostalgia for their machines...

Looks like rubbish Elite... where's the mode 4 / mode 5 change?

Falling short of The Shamen by 5%, and Primal Scream by about 87%.

Agreed. One of the fields my brother works in is creating synthetic petrol and diesel from hydrogen and CO2. If you can do that you keep running planes on avgas because the energy density is there.

Oh, he's in bed now. Exams going on. But you'd better get your arse home for Friday. And a crappy laptop for Q2.
@quaplek.bsky.social - make sure you have a crappy laptop too!!

Is it still a movie if you import 100000 digital photos, and a few audio CDs?
Assemble it in the USA, like American cars made from Canadian parts... 🤷♂️

I remember going to Yellowcraigs beach for a day out / barbecue in a mate's van, and somebody put the album on.
Sucked.
But the Levi's ad smashed it!

Man, we used Wordwise at school. I think we had InterWord as well. Both drilled into me the mantra of save-then-print. Not such a big deal these days, but I never held much sympathy for people when they didn't save before Word 2000 crashed on printing!

Greene King bought Deuchars IPA from Heineken, when the Caledonian Brewery closed. It's not the same nowadays, which is sad.
I suppose I should be glad that it's not just gone completely.
That was the last "proper" brewery in Edinburgh. Place used to be full of them and nicknamed Auld Reekie...

Got it for PC. The 640×480 graphics were always so crisp. And such a fun game!
Also, completed it, mate. With only one agent. And yes, that includes the Atlantic Accelerator.
