Kara Swisher's views about tech execs should have the same reputation on Jim Cramer's views about stocks

If you just want to browse, xcancel.com has worked well for me (I've used it to check Cal sports stuff since deleting my account)

Not sure about other companies, but Google's up-or-out was only ever up to L5, and even that was reduced down to L4 several years ago

The thing is, TNG established that exceptions are allowed. Ro Laren got to wear her earring, and there's also Worf's baldric

I'm pro-metro, I just think a city's bus lines should all/mostly be trolleybuses

The only reliable solution I've found to strip the DRM from a Kobo ebook is the "obok" plugin for Calibre, but it requires you to extract them from a physical Kobo e-reader (I assume because the on-device encryption is weaker than whatever is used elsewhere)

Glad to see Cal win, though disappointing that the only way to watch this game was on a poor quality paid stream. Hopefully the CRAA can figure out a better broadcasting partner in the future

Final score 55-38. Cal rugby wins their first national championship since 2017! (or 2011 if you don't count the Varsity Cup they played in from 2013 to 2017)

You gotta go to Universal Studios Vatican City for that

The objectively correct standard for what is the Midwest is whether there's a Big Ten school nearby.
Unfortunately, this means that Los Angeles is now in the Midwest.

It happened right before boarding my flight out of BCN. This flight had already been delayed a day because of an unrelated aircraft issue, so glad we only seemed to be slightly delayed in boarding (haven't pulled back yet, but the doors are closed, so 🤞)

The Rolovich hire was the breaking point for me, but everything since then has only made me feel worse about the program. I'm continuing to follow other sports for now despite the Knowlton of it all, but Lyons needs to clean house soon for me to ever come back to Cal football

The de minimus rule change doesn't go into effect until May 2, so individual devices shipped from China should still be fine if they arrive in the US by then, but yeah, after that it's all pretty much dead in the US, and who knows if the manufacturers will have the volume elsewhere to survive

Honestly a little disappointed that "parachutist rugby" doesn't refer to a variant of rugby played with parachutes

I feel like this could actually mean they go on even longer. An immediate 25% crash and *maybe* he backs off. 5% per day and they boil the frog indefinitely

It's a currency issue. Right now, then yen is such that if they priced it equivalently to the US and European markets, it would be out of reach for most in Nintendo's home market

Any idea what's going on with the stream? It was working (with a not particularly good audio mix) and then it just cut to black

As network TV's ecosystem frays, its hinterlands should become fae-haunted and home to high strangeness. You should be able to see a brand new I Love Lucy if you enter the right sequence of numbers. You should be able to deal with the devil if you turn on a former UPN affiliate at the right time.

If this goes on much longer, seeding isn't going to matter since the ACC tournament will be over before this game

Yeah, it's just something that Cal and UCLA fans will needle each other about as a friendly rivalry thing.
The really interesting duplicate is "Stanford Jonah" and "Up With the White and Gold", which Cal and Georgia Tech both claim as original, but it's not clear how it got from one to the other

Fight for California is actually our primary fight song, and I don't think UCLA uses that tune for anything, but Big C is important enough at Cal that there were legal threats back in the 60s when UCLA stole the tune for Sons of Westwood

It was back and forth in the first half, with UBC briefly leading, but then Cal scored two tries in quick succession to go into halftime up 20-12
