It's one of my favourite bands, and I even got a chance to go to their concert!! They have incredible songs and beautiful lore, but even if you don't understand it all you can still enjoy some banger songs like Велетні, Лісовик or Ліхтар!! (my personal favourites hehe)

And even tho the english lyrics are completely different from the original, as well as the meaning of the song is, the Ukrainian melody still plays in so many countries all over the globe. (www.youtube.com/watch?app=de...)

One of the symbols of it is the Zirka ("Star") and it plays an important roles in the celebration. It symbolized the birth of the new sun, and carolers, dressed up in costumes and masks, going from house to house shining and bright for everyone to see. (www.youtube.com/shorts/rRhTn...)

Storks come here in spring and stay untill autumn when it becomes cold, and for many they're a symbol of good luck, wellbeing and health. And if a stork sits on your house it counts as a huge good sign and a blessing! (prados.org.ua/en/stork-as-...)

It also has some other variants of it, such as cold borsch or green borsch! (authenticukraine.com.ua/en/food/bors)

It is made with red beetroots as one of the main ingredients, which gives the dish its red color, but every region of Ukraine has a slightly different recipe for it, since the original recipe comes from decades ago.

In 2024, French developers Endorah alongside UNITED24 opened a MINESALT campaign, opening a Minecraft minigame server, as well as a fundraiser for helping rebuilding a school destroyed in 2022, and bring some fun education about Soledar to all people playing! (u24.gov.ua/minesalt)

Before, this pack of salt was in pretty much every Ukrainian house, no one really thought much about it. Today, the city of Soledar lays destroyed by russian troops, and the salt factory buried beneath ground.(en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soledar...)

They developed the integral system of the sound tones. By these sounds, the people in the villages and on the mountain pastures could learn where the shepherds with their flocks were. (libr.dp.ua/?do=ukrainica&…)

Trembitas were used instead of clocks: the precise hour was determined by the length of its shadow. The signals were given with them on the beginning and the end of the working day, sheep milking and lunch for shepherds and sheep breeders.

A trembita was used by Hutsuls in the Carpathians, and it's sound signified many things. For quite a long time, the trembita was the only connection device between the shepherd and the world around. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hutsuls)
