Outgoing employees at Make the Road New York are saying the layoffs – which come just two months after a new contract was signed – are anti-union, and will only diminish resources for New York and Queens’ immigrant communities during a time when they are most needed.

The following is a statement of support for @voxmediaunion.bsky.social WGAE members at SB Nation and Vox Media from MLBPA, MLSPA, NFLPA, NHLPA, NWSLPA, PHPA, USLPA, & WNBAPA.

Our members at Vox Media's current union contract expires at 11:59 pm ET on June 12. Time is running out, but Vox Media management has refused to even discuss our proposals in good faith. Send a letter urging Vox Media CEO Jim Bankoff to negotiate a fair contract NOW! wgaea.st/vox-letter

Unions are how we protect each other from corporate greed and get the pay and benefits we are owed. Of course CEO’s don't like US.

From being a strong advocate for hospital workers & patients to advancing policies like an expansion of the earning income tax credit, former Rep. Charlie Rangel will be remembered as a bold trailblazer & tireless fighter for workers in NY & across the country. Our hearts go out to his family.

This Memorial Day, we honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Working people are sick and tired of billionaires and corporate CEOs making 238x what workers make. The best way to fight back against the billionaire takeover? Unions.

Last week’s House budget, passed under cover of darkness in the middle of the night, failed the American people in countless ways. Among them: the exclusion of the Performing Artists Tax Parity Act. nycclc.org/news/actors-...

Today we stood with the members of @reiunion.bsky.social SoHo to call out management and demand they reach a fair contract with the their workers before the end of 2025. Solidarity with these brave REI workers standing strong for their rights at work.

House Republican leaders passed this shameful bill in the middle of the night for one reason: They didn’t want the American people to see the deep and harmful cuts they’re imposing in the light of day.

Makes sense. For decades, Americans were evenly divided in their relative support of labor unions and big business, but that’s no longer the case.

This Fri, May 23 at 11AM: Join the @reiunion.bsky.social to rally for a fair contract! REI continues to bargain in bad faith with the 11 union stores around the country. Workers have been fighting for a contract for over 3 years - join them in this fight at 303 Lafayette Street Friday! #1u

We’re ready to fight for the contract our @voxmediaunion.bsky.social members deserve!

Last week, the #voxmediaunion bargaining committee updated union members on our progress so far on bargaining out what will be our third contract with Vox Media. We all stand together in demanding a fair contract from the company while eating pizza, because why not? #1u #oneuniononecontract

The chaos of dismantling, recalling and piecemeal reinstating of NIOSH staff has wreaked havoc on workers’ lives and the critical research we depend on them to do. All NIOSH workers must be reinstated NOW.

Solidarity with @sbworkersunited.org workers across the US who are striking as Starbucks focuses on creating a new dress code instead of negotiating to actually improve working conditions. THIS is why we need #UnionsForAll!

The Trump admin’s new budget would be a disaster for working people. With their reckless cuts to essential services, an estimated 8.6 MILLION people would be kicked off Medicaid - all to give billionaires and giant corporations even more tax breaks.

Today we honor the compassion, strength, and dedication of nurses in New York City and around the world. Thank you for the care you give, the lives you touch, and the difference you make every day. Happy International Nurses Day!

Our condolences to the family, friends, and coworkers of these two workers. May they rest in peace. nypost.com/2025/05/10/u...
