We lost our girl, Mona, on Friday the 23rd. So this post hit particularly hard right now. In a good way.

That gives the whole hand-up-the-backside thing an entirely different dimension.

Is that good advice? I think that might put some people in book clubs in awkward positions.

Unfortunately, there's some truth to the stereotype of specialty/hobby store employees. From records, to antique/vintage items, etc., There's a reason the Simpson's "Comic Book Guy" exists. Too bad...those folks would grow their beloved hobbies if they were personable/kind/generous with knowledge.

Also...for this year, I'd have to consider this...

This is incorrect. Your favorite album for that year should definitely be Rumours.

Gary Clark Jr. & Marcus King. Here's one by the former.

Dang. That is unfortunate. Is it something about this particular album? The types of music? Or these particular artists/arrangements/presentation?

I have had multiple experiences like this.
Like...the fact that there used to be telephone operators. You could dial zero and talk to a person who could give you phone numbers and such.
Or the fact that there used to be a phone number you called to get the time.

VERY underrated and far, far, far too little notoriety.

Thank you, but this is very difficult to see. We need to send probes to Uranus to get a better look.

I don't know if that is what I consider their best album or their first great one...but it's in the discussion. And the discussion is part of the fun.
It's worth noting that very few bands have recorded multiple records at THIS level. Even most "great" acts rarely have more than 2 or 3.

Ooooh...I just saw this. Ordering a signed 1st Edition.

This is exactly the way I'd expect a robot to react to being correctly identified as a robot. Try again, Skynet. Heh.

Dahni Harrison's face as Prince goes into the groove and does that crowd-catches-him-and-puts-him-back move is priceless, full of joy and admiration. And poignant...how many people looked at his dad and/or the Beatles the same way?
