I agree that there is more truth on our side, but there's a lot of disagreement between leftists. Like are an anarchist and a Marxist less different in the mind of this researcher than a MAGA and a white nationalist?

And American propaganda is pretty powerful honestly glad there aren't more people falling for it.

Echo chamber has turned into such a concern trolling phrase. People have a community where they agree on really broad strokes ideas and it gets called an Echo Chamber.

I think a much bigger problem for optics is liberal pundits who lend credence to right wing narratives about protesters. If the protesters messaging is confusing or messy it's the job of those pundits to help explain it.

I think it's worse for optics for liberal pundits to lend credence to bad faith right wing narratives about protesters.

For American conservatives it's not a protection of freedom it's a signifier of freedom. Which then means that their politicians can attack whatever rights they want and the conservative voters will pretend that having a gun means they are still free.

Scientists don't decide what they are going to study in a vacuum. Even if they are doing rigorous science where they apply that rigor to isn't a value neutral decision.

"First they came for the Communists And I told the Communists not to take any violent actions that could be used as a justification for violence against them."

I believe scientists do, science is an activity that can't have specific interests of its own.
comment in response to post
That is not an option they were ever going to consider.

The maintenance of capitalism is demanding violence in this case.
comment in response to post
I think making it clear to fascists that people will protect their targets from their violence is good.

A lot of scientists get mad when it is pointed out that they have political interests. They only want to think of politics as something that is external to science and that gets in their way rather than something that scientists engage in.

What is the endgame of calling him a coward when he's backing down from doing bad stuff? Do you want him to follow through on doing bad stuff?

I feel like before all discussion of criticism got filtered into culture war bs it was common knowledge that often critics will value novelty more highly than the average person. It was how the average person would explain why critics like some weird foreign film and not a popular blockbuster.

There really is no endgame to calling Trump a chicken. It's good when he doesn't do the insane bad things he wants to do.

Ursula Le Guin also wrote a book with characters without a fixed gender.

Most people didn't have the "you're not supposed to use contraception, but you're also not supposed to have premarital sex so if you do here's how to use contraception" lesson.

Then I remember that they were constantly getting themselves in trouble for being progressive from more conservative members of the school administration. I was lucky. Just interesting that it was the principal and superintendent not the clergy teachers who were being shitty.

I'm not sure why you were given access to bluesky after your 30 year coma but you are going to want to take learning about the modern Republican party really slowly.

I was just about ready to put in an order then I heard about the union so I won't be doing that.

Chasing centrists lost us 2/3 of the last elections you buffoons.

They aren't equal but here you are acting like they are.

Have you considered that you and other people who suggest being spineless on moral issues are a much larger liability to the Democrats?
comment in response to post
The biggest liability for Democrats is seeming like fairweather allies.
comment in response to post
I'm sure the world's most laughable centrists will have a lot of really useful insights on this topic.

They should have just done it in 2020 waiting this long to cancel it makes it clear they were willing to dig up Chadwick Boseman's corpse if they thought they could get away with it.

It's also an obvious lie that Israel would support a peaceful Palestinian movement. Unless he means they would support Palestinians being quiet while Israel removes them from their homes.

Employer healthcare weakens the position of workers dramatically. A person who has a chronic illness or a dependent with one is going to have a lot more trouble leaving a bad work environment if that might interrupt care. How safe is it to form a union if they have a gun to your kid's head?

Trump has put a heck of a lot more money and power in the hands of the very wealthy. The policies damaged lots of stuff temporarily but that allowed the people with the most money to vulture a lot of stuff.

Obviously decline comes to mind but it could also be conspiracy. Some Q-Anoners essentially claim that the democrats used to be good but the deep state has replaced them (I'm fuzzy on how) or is blackmailing them into being evil. Not sure it matters if it's decline or going deeper into conspiracy.

The problem is that our dualoply gives people whose lives are slowly getting worse two lies. One is a lie that says that they are wrong, everything is better than it has ever been and the other blames minorities. Neither choice is good. It's better not to hurt minorities but not solving anything.

An advantage that the Reps have over the Dems is that the Reps aren't really bothered by the right wing of their party, for example being mean to immigrants doesn't usually get in the way of protecting capital. Left wing ideas do get in the way of protecting capital.

This should be the picture you send the Democrats for your audition to be the "Joe Rogan of the left."

You should end the suspense and send them Warmbo.

I guess they're only great if they work. Another reason we shouldn't be trusting robots with anything important.

I will say it's easier for the right because their constituents believe in insane shit that doesn't threaten big businesses.

The problem isn't finding the person almost any moderately successful political podcaster could do it. If every important Democrat was willing to be asked tough questions by some C-lister that person would be catapulted into being huge. The problem is them being willing to be asked tough questions.
