The same man who was commenting on how well the computer networks of the financial system handled the mass sell off on "liberation day". He would be the man who will comment on how well Nero could play the fiddle while Rome burns around them.

Thank you for posting this. I remember as a child it was horrible. I'm going to talk to my doctor asap about getting a booster again.

The problem is this. Musk didn't think about who his customer were. Right wing nut jobs can't afford a Tesla even if they wanted one (which most don't). It's liberals who buy Tesla's. And when buying one seems like you're supporting a literal nazi, liberals tend to shy away from thing like that.

It makes perfect sense. He has been doing his utmost to create a cash position for the coming crash. He is in his almost mid 90's he may not live long enough to capitalize on the crash. Might as well switch drivers seats during the lull.

I'm assuming he is betting on removing trade barriers between provinces which should produce close to the amount of trade we do with the US. This is why we can afford to wait out the orange toddler.

That's weird seeing the anti-christ in papal robes. Seriously AI thinks he is the anti-christ. Ask any uncensored AI model.

Everything is too unpredictable. I did the same about 2 months ago. He just moves slower because he can make waves in the market with how much he owns.

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it’s natural manure. - Thomas Jefferson

I wouldn't be as concerned about that as I would the fact that there are going to be very few workers to harvest crops this fall. Few to plant this spring. Potash will still be tariffed causing the few crops that remain to be prohibitively expensive and trump dumped water in California for crops.

Good luck with that one. Disney had a hard enough time in the hall of presidents, and that one is animatronic.

What the tariffs are doing is death by a thousand papercuts to the consumer culture of the US. I can't see them buying too many iPhones when they are having trouble buying food.

Truckers vote for Trump, trump betrays them like he does everyone, truckers get screwed.

And it's only going to get worse. Where do you think much of the cheaper lumber comes from? Or steel? Or copper? When you tariff the building materials and lower the value of the dollar, guess what happens.

Uncertainty is the enemy of a stable economy.

Economically, the big thing the US has had on offer was a large consumer culture. With tariffs and idiotic handling of the economy he will make it impossible for large segments of the population to be those consumers.

I read "all quiet on the western front" after hearing it was one of the books that the nazis used to throw into the fire. Amazing book, one of the rare books that give not only the German soldier's perspective on world war 1 but also not portraying the war as a glorious adventure.

Economic fallout is rather slow in coming. But, so far the tourism numbers are in and it's not looking good, the crop reports are probably going to be dismal too.

I think food may get a bit scarce later this year. I hope those maga assholes wear their hats in the breadlines. This way everyone knows who to blame.

On the plus side Tesla, who gets a ton of their parts from China, is going to be his hardest by this.

That is the hope. I'm kind of hoping it sparks a class war that convinces the planet that having ultra rich people is a bad idea.

The only thing that will happen is the US will become more and more economically isolated. The GDP will shrink and, hopefully, the people will revolt France 1788 style.

I lost about $5. I knew that moron was going to tank the economy somehow, so I have been taking the cash position that Warren Buffett took.

Just because the US won't be in the picture doesn't mean democracy is going anywhere. Russia is on the verge of collapse. The EU combined with the resources of Canada will be a force to be reckoned with.

Long term, it's handing over all soft power to China and ultimately will lead to complete economic isolation of the US economy. Defaulting on the national debt, collapsing of the military, etc...

What good is an income tax cut when you have so little income it doesn't matter. Or when the price of everything raises so much as to negate any income tax cut.

No car is fully made in the US. Have fun when the price of all cars goes up. Including "domestic" ones. Enjoy the high cost of beef, chicken, grains, etc... You see, it doesn't just affect the rich, it affects all.

China has learned the lesson of US soft power. So, while that orange buffoon is dismantling the gathered soft power of almost a century, the Chinese are gaining it.

It beats being a cherished territory of the United States of Russia. And I'm not proposing anything more than just making it more in their interests to be an ally instead of an enemy.

This is also the best plan defensively. As trump is threatening annexation, it would be in the best interests of Canada for China to want to protect their customer's sovereignty.
