Old man trying to be as best a teacher I can be. Hailing from sunny Leicestershire, I'm interested in most things educational. Thinking about what a Democratic education system could look like. #UKEd. #UKTeaching #PrimaryTeaching

I'm running this webinar about adaptive teaching on 18th June. Pay what you can to attend. Hope you can join me. Please repost. Thank you! 🙏🏻 www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/the-ultima...

If you are with the one you love, you should never be afraid to hold their hands, hug or kiss them in public. Ever. If you are offended by that, you are the one with a problem. 🏳️‍🌈

An opinion. Schools are more than just academia. Primary schools significantly moreso. Just having an education system that focuses only on academic achievement contributes to a decline in society.

You spend 5 minutes trying to challenge bigotry on X, and all of a sudden your thread is full of the ... 'people' ... and your in a doomscroll. Thank the gods for here.

I think something helpful to understand about bluesky is that it's good to repost stuff because people operate on a wide range of different time zones here. There isn't an algorithm sharing stuff for us (although feeds operate in a similar way).

You get the exposure on the other place, but my gods, the sheer amount of sewerage you have to deal with.

I have too many questions about education and learning. I might have to quit teaching!

We have a vacancy for September in our lovely school near the sea. Details on our academy trust website: www.schoolsworks.org/vacancies/

Enjoying the jousting over on the 'other place', but this is my reasoned calm as opposed to the exhilirating, but breath-stealing, chaos.

🌟 Due to a host reschedule, I now have in-person, full day availability for Tuesday 10th June. Available for any of the areas below. 🌟

Been in schools for 14 years now - this is my 7th year as a teacher. Another 'production' done - this time an outdoors Easter Service, complete with dwarf donkeys. Always worry we won't get there, never surprised when we do.

Give the US back to Greenland.

Schools and Trusts should not be designing curricula. Adapting, yes. Designing, no.

It was all going well until I aat down to eat.

The Huh Curriculum Leaders course is now available on @MyattandCo In eight session course we walk through the principles and practice of developing the curriculum across our schools. We're publishing them on a weekly basis: /1

From the perspective of someone who helps to run a preschool, the reason fees are going up is the gap between the funded entitlement and our costs. The minimum wage is going up by 6.7% and most of our costs are staffing. We're a charity so we don't make a profit. Still hard to make it sustainable.

sometimes a picture tells a thousand words

Why does England not have a standard, base level curriculum which gives citizens enough knowledge to operate as a member of our society?

And I am an ally. If you are too, let the world know.
