Guitar crank, cynic, liberal with open eyes. Sadly aware that little turns out as hoped, usually willing to accept the good rather than chase the perfect. Keep an eye out over your shoulder.

An acquaintance is completing his 20+ year Army career earlier than planned. I wonder why?

Having experienced medical-bill-induced bankruptcy before, I sympathize with you. I can't see a solution in this country. The opposition is just too powerful. Even if the Democrats were to win full control soon, the right-wing reaction could land us something even worse than Trump.

The enemy of my enemy is my (temporary) friend. Every German killed or wounded on the Eastern Front was one who could not kill Americans in the West. But we ended up rescuing another hideous dictatorship.

"Deus Vult" -- what utter sh*t. Their "god" says whatever they want it to say.

The cover of "Any Major Dude" has a rough energy that contrasts nicely with the SD original.

I hope, I hope I hope . . .

Wow, what a daydream. We'll be lucky just to remove them temporarily, and get a start on fixing the damage, before they carry out a military coup.

Well said!

Hmmm . . . you'd rather a Tory government? Or maybe Nigel Farage could fix everything that's wrong. On our side of the Atlantic, we have chosen painful suicide for our Republic. Good luck with whatever you finally end up with.

The Trump regime has betrayed everyone, even their supporters. They're working on blaming Democrats for the chaotic economy, so the brainwashed MAGA cult doesn't waver in its support for the destruction of our Republic.

Murders? I think you meant "murderers". No, Democrats are trying to figure out how to spend their time preventing a fascist dictatorship. So far, they aren't doing a very good job.

True, and doubly dangerous because of it.

I'm a member also. Why should the bad guys be the only ones armed?

The reputation of the White House has been permanently stunk up. It'll take a lot of Lysol to change it back.

What a pathetic, insecure little man. He has invented his own personal god to validate his fear of half the human species.

Learn to handle guns safely, learn to shoot, and acquire a good defensive firearm and a good supply of ammunition. Why should the bad guys be the only ones armed?

Some people would respond to a Bernie-like candidate. But a Bernie is so easy for the Repubs to smear with "socialist". They have succeeded in making that word an all-purpose substitute for everything bad.

This was another Republican success last November. They played the border thing like a violin, stoking fear with that "invasion" talk.

Or Vegas -- American love Vegas. Branson, MO is another big draw. Sorry, didn't mean to be a snob.

Admitted. VP Harris' skin color and ethnic background was an additional negative in the minds of many white voters, though. Harris was far from a perfect candidate, too -- she didn't succeed in reconnecting the Democratic Party to the working class. Not sure what it would take to do that, though.

We are not all a**holes. Fathers of daughters, at least some of us, have learned a lot from those wonderful young women.

Sir, how do you keep your sanity? I guess making pies helps. Thank you for your posts.

Uh, yeah. So many of them had trouble with the "Black lady" part.

So well said! No billionaire will suffer -- comfort the comfortable and afflict the afflicted.

I guess Trump needed one more surgery-faced female accomplice, sort of his version of Harley Quinn. Kristi Noem was a little too wholesome for him; he wanted edgy this time.

Kennedy's hypocrisy is almost unimaginable. A rich, dissolute man full of idiotic ideas and with lethal power. How did we do this to ourselves?

Well said. Musk and other reactionary billionaires know that automation and AI will preclude the need for a working class. They see retirees as useless freeloaders. This is one way of eliminating "excess population".
