You don’t support free speech by definition if the speaker has to get approval for their speech and if you ban them from all activities for speaking freely

Decolonise sleep ☺️

Also just because humans as a whole survive these events, doesn't mean many individuals don't die. So your point is utterly bizarre and based merely on superficial similarities between television or related technology and AI which spans data centres and enslavement.

Humans have survived so many things from the petrochemical industry's destruction of the environment (at least so far) to genocide (which is a technosocial invention, look up IBM's involvement in the Holocaust for example) to so many other technosocial events and processes. So what?

If your claim is that both humans adapt to technology (sure, they do) and that technology is ok because humans adapt to it. Then the 2nd part is not licensed. You cannot derive something is ok or should be uncritically examined because people can survive it.

This seems like a weird angle, esp. since back then 1) they were affected by the back and white footage, apparently they dreamt in b&w, but this is honestly irrelevant really, also 2) importantly they weren't glued to screens. & 3) most importantly, why does any of what you said change what I said?

How is it not more than a single phase of sleep? 🥲

While I absolutely have no problem saying it is or isn't typical, ignoring my (Cypriot) and many other (Spanish) cultures that have polyphasic sleep in 2025 seems strange. ACAB but look even the Greek police enforce silence during the sleep period in the afternoon: www.astynomia.gr/odigos-tou-p...

"But GenAI is already disrupting education" — what if it is doing so by encouraging shallow takes & deskilling, as many well-informed scholars (notably the ones you're responding to) have been arguing in print? E.g. philpapers.org/archive/FORT...

Well, yes and no because it's specifically about protest. So not just believe, actually do something about it. Have you seen the news of those being deported, usually it's activists.

Yeah, exactly it's a double edged sword. Human vision and critical thinking deskilled.

The ones they are deporting for not being citizens and for being pro Palestine seem morally sound people, but the ones just moving because they are privileged if such people exist are strange.
