“no way to prevent this” says only programming language where this regularly happens

I guess this is what we're going to be building instead of code because god knows it doesn't exist today

Your money, free from state control.

Seriously who gave these people all that money

every state needs to immediately make it illegal to claim law enforcement status without self identifying & providing ID and badge and make it a very very serious offense to do so. If they don't there will be anarchy, people are already not sure who is a fake and if the fakes are out killing ppl??

This is not remotely how ChatGPT works. ChatGPT could not do what it does if it worked like this. I wonder how much the lack of good explainers for the scientific theory of intelligence behind ChatGPT is laziness versus LLM researchers feeling they profit from public complacency.

My Unix signals tier list. I will not be taking further questions

"If your decentralised protocol is missing features, the market will add them with centralisation." — @goat.navy *This*: - is why why the web was captured; - is why email became concentrated; - is why ActivityPub, as defined today, isn't capture-resistant.

Why does the network backbone of Telegram matter? Because as @pwnallthethings.bsky.social was pointing out in 2022 (www.pwnallthethings.com/i/86455222/t...), Telegram's in-house TLS replacement provides a cleartext permanent device ID! The network can follow users across WiFis, data plans, etc.

I still can’t believe that this is a real company.

Hexagons aren't always MQ-9s, but in this case, yes, there are two MQ-9 Reapers over LA today. Just ridiculous.

Amazing article. USAF officers were told we had alien tech as a possible hazing ritual–many believed it for the rest of their careers. And the story of UFOs disabling nuclear missiles? Secret EMP test. www.wsj.com/politics/nat...

"I think we have a bias as people coming from the tech industry where we worked at companies, you know, such as Google, Facebook, these companies that have plenty of money, are funded by investors and have lots of people kind of sitting around doing nothing."

I saw this story breaking about Mike Waltz and noticed something weird about his phone in that he isn’t actually using “signal” as in the secure messaging app but is using something MUCH worse that I haven’t seen reported on yet. Quick thread but it’s an Israeli intel guy behind it

I was wrong about this. I just asked o3 to find an accessible, short introduction to hermeneutics and watched it search twenty sources, checking the page counts, respecting my preference for primary sources, &c &c, before producing a well-organized report with seven ranked options. It's scary.
