Just because climate change has reduced spring to about a month long doesn't mean summer isn't still a real thing!

Never stop fighting for what you believe in (making jokes using your encyclopedic game knowledge)

I keep mixing this game up with Neugier and I fear I may never stop making that mistake.

Same mood here in Boston
We're light years ahead of the vast majority of the nation and it's still shit

I like it better than VF. The hold system is such an elegant way to address the problem of spamming "good options", and it leads to game flow centered chiefly around understanding one another as a good throw of a hold does the same amount of damage as a big combo most tof the time.

In an era where everyone seems to expect every game launch with a six language selector, your tent is wide by default.
As a kid I wondered why they put the sales team in the credits of Ratchet & Clank, but now I realize it's because otherwise nobody will think those marketers exist.

Except the blue line is dead next week and we've got the trip on the 21st so uhhhh see you at the end of the month???

I feel like if I picked up the game today I would actually pick Marth or Puff but as a kid the fact that all other characters had boring punches and kicks while every single G&W attack was special, really appealed to me. He's a fun, wacky little guy.

I have not played Brawl since 2011

with DI it feels like any button you throw out that isn't special cancelable is gambling in a way that's never happened before

Punish counter is worse because every punish is a medium punish, there is no "punishable but only a little bit" in 6, everything hits hard. I'm a big CC and priority system defender because I feel like it made mind games much stronger and it prevented neutral from devolving into The Button That Wins

It also pisses me off that after seven years of people throwing around toxic sludge about how every SF5 character plays the same and has no player expression, that they turn around and stan for a game where verifiably the majority of the cast's game plan is drive rush plus button into mix.

SNK found the gameplay method to solve the majority of SF6's problems and if it weren't for the football alleged felon I think more people would realize this

I think that's the fundamental contrast that makes it such a shame COTW is attached to a giant lead weight. REV blow is universal - except every character has their own. The Dodge attacks are universal (which imo is what solves the stupidity of DI) - but they're all unique

I also didn't know about double elim back then so I felt like I traveled to my first ever tournament just to get banana scammed lmao

First tournament set I ever lost in a game was against Brawl Diddy. I had no idea what was happening and I felt like items were somehow turned on because I was getting banana peeled.

Though it does feel tempting to suggest that the main way to revert all the stupid SCOTUS decisions is to have a Democrat do the same things and watch them go nuts trying to Calvinball their way out of that one. They'll figure out how to define "official acts" real fast.

so the new left leaning perception is "these people who play by the rules are weak" and I don't know how to solve that. Just because someone is doing illegal shit doesn't mean it's what you should be doing once you get them out.

Mitch won, in the end. If Congress hadn't been deadlocked for the past 16 years (to my knowledge has never happened in US history for this long before) all those legislative priorities would get sorted in like a month. But even with a majority they can't make actual legal change.

I think the view now is that doing anything but the wildly illegal is weak. "if Trump could destroy billions in funding why can't we unilaterally cut student debt?"
The answer is that the legal system undid a lot of that stuff, but it didn't get reported as much compared to the act.

This has already taken hold in millennials too. The relentless drum beat of "well why are you such a coward expecting you will get struck down?" - because it was illegal. He canceled billions in debt, legally.

It is, however, REALLY fun to commentate for mystery because whatever happens on the screen is always very funmy

It is an intensely cool game that does not function, but in like a holistic way. All the pieces individually could belong in a good game, just not when put together like this.
comment in response to

This is the first I've heard ANYONE talk about this game outside of when we ran it for mystery last December.
And yeah, that is an accurate play description.

I will also make it extremely clear: this is not a bad matchup. at worst it's even. It just plays very slow, and I feel like a lot of Moon vs the cast once you've optimized the spaghetti out becomes very slow.
