Are you tone deaf or stupid? Ice is assaulting your constituents. The violence is coming from the feds and sadly, some local cops. Not my beautiful city

Free shuttle every 10 minutes according to this post: thesource.metro.net/how-to-use-t...
Reliability is surely the usual LAX shuttle level (roll d20 to avoid 25 minute wait and 60 minutes to terminal)

Perhaps you are unaware, as I was until recently, that practically all general aviation fuel is still leaded. If lead isn't a toxin then nothing is

I want this so much. Is there a current point of leverage? Like is it time to call our city councilors?

Again, why is it they need the aid in the first place? Could it be...bombs? Invasion?

Prolonging the war...by feeding civilians?
The first few trucks...just days ago?
Think about the strongest version of your argument: Every Palestinian, every child, every elder, every human soul should starve rather than Hamas possibly skim money off. That is monstrous.

"Field trial". It sounds like impressive engineering in the service of a mostly aesthetic decision. Lmk how it's widely deployed and I'll retract "vaporware". But the concrete work, drain work, and electrical work to install one of these is surely expensive. All in-ground! 80 kg!

Looks cool. But I'm over "looks cool" when what is needed is simple: more of what we have, done simply (i.e. cheap and reliable). This is all kinds of complex for no reason (installation! water! dirt! maintenance!). Give me a cheap weatherproof box on a wall or pole any day over this vaporware.

Thanks for covering this!

And very good sense to not start excluding by arbitrary decision. That way lies "I know things" pundit madness.

It makes sense to keep it simple. But I am wondering about downweighting less nationalized races: smaller races (by # of votes?) or more local (fed races 100%, state races 50%, local races 25%, that sort of thing). Idea that swing info is best from most partisan races, rather than e.g. mayors.

If you care about climate change, you should not be supporting crypto corruption. Shameful. Embarrassing. Do you like being on a team with the corrupt? Cause that is all crypto is. Scams all the way down. I am your constituent.

Haha I never noticed them. Admittedly I'm basically never waiting on that platform

I don't know but possibly they are light projectors for floor/wall markings like you sometimes see at museums etc.? They look a lot like theatrical/event lighting to me and the positioning seems plausible for floor projection.

I don't think you're persuadable but for anybody paying any attention: Words Mean Things. Fascism has a group of typical characteristics that are mostly not "executions".

And who brought up the mid-1990s anyway? Oy
comment in response to

On what planet does fascism mean "generally functional if acrimonious divided representative government"? I don't mean things were perfect but there wasn't a strongman or purges of enemies or claims that the president was above the law forever or the abandonment of party platforms or or or

That is cool! And has a max takeoff weight of 650kg and flight time is like 30 minutes. If we assume the craft is half of that (probably generous!) there is capacity for 4 people. Including a pilot. It seems to me reasonable to round down to "this technology does not exist" at this point...

Yeah, there's a big psych difference between "5 minutes" and 10 (half-mile). And above 10 does start to feel like a Trip. When we're gonna stock up we take a small wagon which is pretty great

My local shops aren't bad, but are a warehouse-style (weak on produce, small selection, but v good prices) and a Mexican supermarket (great on many things, but specialized). Walkable is great regardless!

You're not exactly wrong, but FDR was pretty clearly trying to help the Brits (50 destroyers in mid-1940, then Lend-Lease which was massive military aid starting well before Pearl). It was isolationists in Congress (and the American people) that kept American troops back.

PS You have at your disposal an entire Department of Transportation professionals to tell you where the bottlenecks are! What a maroon.

Zoning reform (SB79!), transit, and congestion/road use fees. That's it. We need human intelligence, not a "GenAI" scam. You make me ashamed to be your constituent with your yammering and triangulating. Do you know how hard it is to make a Californian miss Chicago? You achieve that!

Maybe you should reflect on what is going on in your head that gives you that feeling. I am comfortable in completely dismissing the purported contributions of bad-faith people. Why are you not?

They have been! They rallied in Greeley not long ago. And rallies like this have other functions besides rallying votes, especially in off years. Activating and connecting people, especially.
comment in response to

You're not wrong! But you're late, late, late. You should repudiate your votes for past nominees and start getting creative and making trouble for/in the senate. Disrupt and resist anything they want. A law to revoke presidential tariff authority? Pass that. Any nominee for anything? NO CONSENT

I so wish Democratic senators understood this simple fact! Accepting a career job (lol) is one thing, but a political appointment should be viewed in of itself as a lifelong self-impeachment of a person's competence and character. In every setting. Forever.

Appreciate that you're keeping us informed late in the night! I hope that you are coming around to resist any and every thing the administration wants. This is a completely criminal presidency and anyone who would serve in it must be considered to be unfit based solely on that. Rubio, what a flop!

You are saying the right thing here but it is very late to the situation. I saw you supporting Senator Booker. Why are you not answering his call and the call of the American people?
comment in response to

Senator I volunteered on your senatorial campaign back in the day when I lived in NH and I don't understand why you have been so cooperative with this criminal administration. You have voted repeatedly for its nominees and measures. You are retiring; why not do what is right? Resist evil! Stand up!
comment in response to

Thank you Senator! Are you starting to understand though that anyone willing to participate in this administration must be stopped if possible? You should hold all nominees and all business to the best of your ability. Sen. Booker is showing that overt resistance makes a difference!

Very very very heavily walked! So happy to see even maybe some parking go. Though roadway is super super wide between Bev & 3rd. Better than nothing but man I wish projects were planned along the lines of "well, space is very limited here guess we'll cut parking/car lanes" instead of the opposite...
comment in response to

I used to ride this way all the time! But switched to Union (in traffic) because the hills were easier and I could take the whole lane (on BB cars would go by in not enough space) . Burlington to Miramar (above 3rd) to Union. It would be so much better if these connected to 7th, indeed.
