America needs a mandatory two week seminar on basic civics and economics. When we no longer understand “free speech” is the government being prohibited and think it applies to individuals and businesses we’ve lost our way. Also, a bookstore choosing not to carry a book is also free speech.

It’s also very dependent on what the operational goal was. If it was, “obliterate the nuclear program” it failed. 1) obliterate can’t be measured; 2) a nuclear program is more than a facility or stockpile. Either way, there has not been a single report that has detected radiation. So …

All you need to know is that it’s awesome. The books go quick so savior them. Always reread the series from the beginning when a new book comes out to relive the saga in its entirety.

Fun fact, the average failure rate to obtain a secret level clearance is 2% across the entire USG. The failure rate to obtain a secret clearance is 48% among applicants to ICE.

Israel won’t be in trouble, but the US will. If they had gone ahead and taken out the Ayatollah it would be the US who would have to deal with the fallout.

It was declared haraam as an offensive weapon. The reasons why it has taken so long include: - significant cyber attacks that derailed about a decade worth of work requiring them to rebuild program from base up - interdiction of key components - JCPOA which stalled enrichment for a few years

As a reminder, the first church in Texas was established in 1588 by the Spanish. Spain colonized California in 1759. The first non-Indigenous language spoken in LA was Spanish.

It’s like they forget that Spain established its first church in Texas in 1588, nearly 20 years before Jamestown. Spain colonized California in 1769, we were speaking Spanish in LA 8years before the Declaration. From one Jew to another, Fuck that Kapo!

How will this point about conjuring fake emergencies be applied to other executive actions? Almost all of Trump’s EOs are based on conjured and unspecified national emergencies.

Self awareness is not his strong suit, and according to his Gronkulator, everyone loves him, and it can’t be wrong because he programmed it himself.

China and EU have different motivations. EU doesn’t like being bullied by the US and they loathe Trump. They also know we need them more than they need us vis-a-vis China. China is more transactional- they’ll want a pound of flesh first.

Which government in Libya was to receive custody? Where were they going to land? Last year during the flooding we couldn’t even fly aid into Libya- everything was moved by helo or truck in the night to avoid attacks.

They don’t know that President Bartlett already tried this 20+ years ago.

4. Increases to DFC. What this means is they will spend at discretion of executive not Congress. DFC will become a sovereign investment fund; typically used by authoritarian regimes to enrich supporters not advance national interests. This equates to Trump is America, America is Trump.

What might not be understood about this budget is: 1. It zeroes out almost every foreign affairs acct, NADR, ESF, INCL, HA, etc 2. Eliminating the funding = eliminating the authorities the funds ca be utilized for 3. New America First fund will have no restrictions or requirements.

True, but that could possibly include trade zones or groups like the EU. Don’t get me wrong, he didn’t reach a deal with any of those, but you can have trade agreements beyond individual countries.

Not to mention the law suits to follow. Right now, it’s been about saving the employees, the carelessness and negligence in how these actions were taken opens the government to countless civil suits to compensate for distress caused to employees.

He’s lost popularity not power. When Republican MoCs start challenging him he will lose power. And popularity is only important to the Authoritarian’s ego. As long as there are sycophants, the egos needs are served.

It would be funny if this extreme interpretation led to significant portions of the Patriot Act being overturned. And why does Seb Gorka have a security after advocating to overthrow the US government?!

This means two plans were submitted. Which OMB will go with is anyone’s guess. My assumption is that this is a balloon meant to cause Congressional pushback by both parties prior to the Tuesday RIF and Reorg announcement to make sure Rubio’s plan wins.
comment in response to post
I would say yes. The RUMINT is he went and delivered this along with the reporg plan to OMB the week before the RIF and Reorg were due to OMB. He did so before Rubio finalized both. That’s why he was fired and not let back into the building. The OMB pass backs on the RIF did not reflect this EO.

Beyond failing to actually name the emergency, a requirement under the law, he also failed to provide a written justification as to why the unions impede performance consistent with execution of national security functions. I imagine, that’s difficult to prove given they’ve been around 70 years

It’s about securing rights to parts of the arctic for access to minerals, oil, and a host of other things. Russia is already at a geographic advantage, and China already has an established physical presence. It’s literally the “Northern Passage.”

I do not know you personally Rachel Cohen, but I know who you are as a person- and I’m fucking glad you exist here and now. I’ve spoken a lot to my children about what doing the right thing means and how important it is to do it in the face adversity. If I ever need a lawyer I’m calling you.

Isn’t Medicare part of the discretionary? What would they do, limit payments and take the difference? How would that be possible given it’s its own tax?

My god, for futurists they’ve clearly failed to read the horrible outcomes related to this scenario. They are petulant billionaire children upset that they don’t get to rule and receive a tithe from everyone who uses their app. And they’re led by a bunch of apartheid Afrikaners.
