Like all Tiger fans, I definitely smiled at this.

The European mind cannot comprehend average American summer heat. Their toenails apparently can't either.

Why the Knicks didn't have Oakley set that pick so that Olajuwon was on the other side of the court, I'll never understand. But I appreciate their choice, that's for sure.

So we'll decide after tonight's game.

I feel like I came to this 3-4 weeks ago. Waiting for everyone to join me.

It's one of the huge oddities/realities/etc. of American life that the mayor of New York is a massive media facsination whose strengths and foilbles are well-known to people across the country.
And that the mayor of Los Angeles is just another mayor.

This is why I think Eyanson is going to pitch tonight. Either if Shores gets in trouble in the 8th or to start the 9th.

It tells me Eyanson gets the 9th

While Im the opposite. If LSU wins tonight, I get to go back to watching the majors tomorrow night.

Agree. I don't think he would have gone out if they had called it initially. But with the long delay, Cowan was out of sequence

A potential package for Kelly. Don't take the values as gospel, but for something like 2 of our better pitching prospects would be the price.

I would expect we would get outbid on prospect capital for Peralta and Cabrera (multiple years of control).
So that would lead to Merrill Kelly as the most likely here.

The need for an SP is limited by the Astros being close to the luxury tax and Jim Crane's unwillingness to pay it.
Pitchers with * would push the Astros above the luxury tax threshold. I'd be surprised if they were on Dana's trade board.

Starting pitching is obviously the Astros biggest need at the deadline. Thus, the focus there.
Dana Brown was aggressive in '24 sending out prospects to get a trade deadline acquisition (and in '23, though we don't think he drove that train).
I would expect the same this year.

Well it's hard to understand the perspective of NBA players when you've spent your career as a [checks noted] NBA player, apparently.

I think this works for us. As much as we bang on Bob Nutting, the problem for the Pirates is the inability to develop a high quality core of players. The Astros won 2 World Series because they developed 2 cores back-to-back.
