Thanks for the reminder @janemunday.bsky.social. Every summer, I repost this article DROWNING DOES NOT LOOK LIKE DROWNING. To date, I know of FOUR kids who were saved after someone who'd clicked on the link learnt how to spot actual drowning. Take time to read and pass on. slate.com/technology/2...

Brilliant thread.

What was it about the well-documented deaths of disabled people due to austerity that attracted you to yet more austerity for disabled people? Keir Starmer Angela Rayner Rachel Reeves Liz Kendall

If your in #SEND or #Neurodivergent care. Private diagnosis just became unsafe. The latest #DisabilityBenefits documents just ruled out anything other than a NHS diagnosis will count. It has serious knock on effects this. Even for children now & later in life. #Autistic #Adhd

I love the idea of penguin pebbling! Here is my updated blog as a penguin pebble to the lovely #actuallyautistic Bluesky Community we have growing here :) autisticrealms.com/penguin-pebb...

Cute how they keep inventing new names to help women not realise they’re autistic

“Disabled” is a factual, neutral term. It is not a bad thing. It is not a taboo. It is not a slur. I am a disabled person. There’s no shame in saying that. But disabled folk aren’t a monolith. We are as diverse and unique as anyone else is… and so are our disabilities.

So much to say about Brian Wilson and so little space. Of course the Beach Boys made rock and pop really into an “art form”, but while they are associated with fun fun fun that was only part of the story. 1/5

Brian RIP

Strikes me that @billybragg.bsky.social lyric “you’ll wait a long time for a Beverly Hills coup” doesn’t seem so apt anymore. Never thought I’d see chaos like is currently happening in the US in my lifetime.

Question: DIR/Floortime Some example material... www.wondirfulplay.com/blog/dir-flo... www.youtube.com/watch?v=kl6C... autismsociety.org/resources/in... Would you say that DIR/Floortime aims to 'normalise' autistic social behaviour and play?

I’m looking for views or evidence on whether Triple P parenting programs are neurodiversity affirming (I don’t think they are). Google is unreliable. Any pointers?

An exploration of moss & monotropic ways of being. An invitation to slow down, sink in & reconnect through sensory depth & shared presence in liminal spaces. https://autisticrealms.com/mossy-minds-monotropism/?utm_source=bluesky&utm_medium=jetpack_social

Neurodiverse Connection has a new campaign that many people here may be interested in reading about and supporting. Please share! ndconnection.co.uk/against-pbs-...

This research looks great, likely to be of interest to people who follow me. Intersectional Invisibility, Mental Health, Epistemic justice.

NAIT Key Messages for Neuro-affirming Health Practitioners Adults (2025) from @naitscotland.bsky.social Thank you for creating this fabulous free 28 page neuroaffirmative resource! nait.scot/document/nai...

New book by Routledge, "An Essential Guide to Caring for People with a Learning Disability and Autistic People". (Routledge publishers, 2025). Focusing mostly on learning disability, and written with Nurses in mind, but loads that's relevant to everyone involved. Lots to like in this.

I’d like to go further. The emphasis on what’s going on *neurologically* in NEUROdiversity research takes attention away from the role embodiment, environment, culture, history, intersectionality and a hundred other things have in us experiencing as we do. I’d like to challenge this neurocentrism.

At college we were warned not to bring our profession into disrepute by criticising it. My word, look at where that gets you. SMH (I love OT, but we do need to wise up.)

Can I ask anyone following me; what do you think about the term “fussy eaters” when applied to children or adults with ARFID or “restricted eating profiles”?

I absolutely love Eliza Fricker’s work. Vital. Thought provoking. Often very moving. If you follow me, I recommend following Eliza.
