‘Jubs’ were among my favourite engines when train spotting in the 1960s. The first ‘namer’ I ever saw was 45679 Armada. Came through Orrell station as a light engine probably on its way to Liverpool one day in summer 1962. Withdrawn not long after.

‘Mushrumps’ is a terrific piece. Comprised of music they wrote for a production of The Tempest, featuring Sir John Gielgud.

I gave Roger Waters and Nick Mason directions to find an India restaurant in Manchester. It was February 1970 just before a Pink Floyd show at the Manchester Opera House.
Richard Ashcroft is my cousin’s son.
