Global drama is pushing up the price of petrol again so here's a friendly reminder to consider if opting out of that drama is right for you. Everyone told me about the money I'd save, but not about the smile-inducing endorphins of going electric with solar. I don't get this feeling at gas stations.

After suffering with the ridiculous steering wheel-mounted indicator buttons in the refreshed Model 3, I was pleasantly surprised to see they kept the indicator stalks in the refreshed Model Y. The stalk feels quite Audi-ish, too. Nature is healing. 😅

Quite a few changes made on the refreshed Tesla Model Y. The rain-sensing wipers are just as terrible as before, but there have been some fantastic upgrades as well. It's the same car in some ways but a whole new car in others. A walk-through and test drive video should be uploaded soon.

I put the YangWang U8 luxury off-roader into some mud in China. It was a lot of fun, and while my co-pilot and I had to use translator apps to communicate, his body language of "this pasty idiot is going to kill us both" was pretty clear... 😅 Video coming soon.

I didn't achieve much this weekend but I had fun. I'm so very fortunate to be in the position to choose between a high performance electric car or a classic British sports car to drive. I don't own the EV and I was given the other one but still, I'm lucky. It's been a lovely weekend.

Something different: Etrucks in Auckland now has a battery swap system for big rigs. They're sorting out the lasers and stuff, then it'll be 100% automated and much quicker than refilling a tank of diesel. And much, much, much cheaper.

I've thrown my elderly back out so I'm currently in Limp Mode. I've also gotta make videos in this horizontal rain today. If you listen carefully you can actually hear me grumbling through this picture. Let's hope the electric car show in Taupo tomorrow morning doesn't also get rained out.
