Nah. You don't get to be the YIMBY candidate when you personally recruited the city councilmembers to run who are now busy chipping at Harrell's modest proposed upzones.

Yglesias refuses to update his priors with data. It's lazy When the Garcia news broke, these people said that "raising the salience" of immigration would be bad for Dems. But addressing the issue decreased Trump's approval and support for deportations, in both experiments and observational data.

I've had to explain this stupid study like 100 times.

The Bremerton City Council just voted 6-1 to become the fourth Washington city to completely drop any mandated off-street parking in new development, following in the steps of Spokane, Port Townsend, and Bellingham.

Should be wall to wall coverage with video in the national political media.

Something that I didn't register at first... It's damn impressive that Rinck's office got 700ish comments on Rivera's NIMBY bill. Transit advocacy appears to still be alive and kicking.

This is definitely true in Seattle too.

MHA resulted in the biggest upzone in Seattle... maybe ever? Continuously criticizing the IZ mandates directly undermines those upzones and harms Seattle's pro-housing movement. If you're worried about the mandates, there are two excellent options 1) expand the upzones 2) fully fund the IZ

MGP has completely gone off the rails. She's in a purple district and should be primaried by a replacement level Dem that will just vote with the party.

I would say that accusations of NIMBYism really do cut people because most of the time they view their personal engagement in politics as virtuous.

A lot of people think "the DNC" is this big bad powerful institution serving donor interests. What people need to understand is how powerless it is. The party must be much stronger--and more accountable. See here: thehill.com/homenews/cam...

We are the good government coalition and we're here to make our 54 billion capital project discretionary to the whims of a single person.

The state legislature could always give Sound Transit its own permitting authority. www.theurbanist.org/2024/06/27/o...
