Mary Miller previously spoke at a rally prior to January 6th saying "Hitler was right on one thing: whoever has the youth, has the future." youtu.be/L7CQWKiG1Hw?...

I have no idea what you're talking about.

This disaster has to be stopped and the only thing these goons understand is force.

She can be impeached.

Continuously convinced by the argument that we need to portray things like Slotkin's vote for Norm as a betrayal of the Democratic party. Voting with the goons who are literally assaulting your Democratic colleagues

It's all out in the open and the dude is clearly losing on this issue so he's trying to contain the fallout. If you're doing journalism you can call a spade a spade. www.wsj.com/us-news/prot...

Sort of true. But I think Yggy and Klein are both true believers who helped convert real grassroots energy into a brand (for better or worse).

Short answer here is that many of the people who are writing, reporting, and editing these stories are also all in on MAGA and similarly unable to believe Trump is responsible for this.

Dude is out here doing press conferences saying he's the decider on who gets deported and news outlets are still unwilling to attribute the "bad" deportations to him. bsky.app/profile/hele...

In before the inevitable replies raging against "abundance"... It gives the game away that abundance is a good enough message people who explicitly don't believe in the substance are trying to co-opt it.

Seems pretty obvious that raising the profile of your wife's imprisonment is actually good. And he knows this which is why he's talking to the media. More likely, he hasn't come to terms with his own responsibility in his wife's imprisonment. Which fair... some truths are hard and we're all human.

And just to be clear, pressure from the Trump administration to imprison more immigrants is in the public record. This isn't speculation. The breach of ethics for the reporters is implying something else, outside the public record, is causing this. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/11/u...

If he wants to get his wife out of prison why is he blaming this on the amorphous "bureaucracy?"
comment in response to post
Media with an ethically clear professional conduct would not publish stuff that reconfirms a basic piece of the administration's propaganda. They would make it clear that there are orders from the top to imprison as many immigrants as possible

Assuming "isn't going to open until 2040" is the "paucity of ambition" OP is highlighting. And since universal free fares are not going to happen -- they're a completely empty promise -- people also can't suggest building real faster is unrealistic.

It's all just working backwards from some extremely sloppy assumptions.

This is all too hard and complex. Could you personally come over here and click the block button on my phone?

The problem is you're engaging in seriously discussing the merits of the policy, while the whole point of "just raise taxes" is to completely avoid any discussion of merits and instead switch the discourse to the person's hobby-horse.

Poster brain: these people aren't my flavor of politics and I find them personally annoying, therefore they're actually very bad™

"Some people just can't imagine having nice things." I want buses every two minutes!!!
comment in response to post
Anyone who thinks about this for more than one second realizes this is an argument to make fares free *instead of* [insert literally any other policy].
comment in response to post
Reporting from a deep blue state, where every tax measure passes... There are still a million things that should be a higher priority than free fares. For example, improving transit frequency. "Just raise taxes" is just the argument of someone working backwards from a conclusion.
comment in response to post
And if you don't spend any time thinking about the actual merits of fare free transit -- instead trying to do a rhetorical end-run around the conversation -- you're completely unable to prioritize fare free transit among other left initiatives.
comment in response to post
And there is strong leftist reasons the argument is never made within the context of a campaign to raise revenue and replace fares. If you're actually doing the work to raise revenue, spending that on replacing all fares *should* be an extremely low priority among the universe if left priorities.
comment in response to post
I'm an advocate not a consultant. And this issue specifically broke my trust with the broader left culture. We can advocate for policy that's broadly popular and right. But instead there's a group think attachment to dead-end policy which pushes away folks doing grassroots advocacy.

It's also a form of denial. People are unwilling to believe that Trump is a strong candidate.

"Why exist, if not for me?" is the dullard question drowning this fucking country

People have pointed out the actual number is billions, but just to clarify, someone at Bloomberg made that chart.

Meanwhile, they think it's some sort of uno reverse, checkmate to point out other countries' atrocities which ... wut? Duh, those things are bad! The whole thrust of all the arguments strongly suggests that totalizing ideology is a weird personality flaw.
