I hope that gets tossed quickly, which it should if this were normal times

PBS had been leaning into the fringe news space since the first dump term. I lost all respect for them after that. Still, dumpy dump shouldn’t be defunding them.

They have also said that the U.S. is paying El Salvador for their prison services. The U.S. should be able to just stop paying and that should end the arrangement.

The media needs to stop calling it deportation and start calling it what it is: imprisonment.

I am dealing with long covid. One thing I tell myself is that, as awful this situation is for me, it’s forcing me to change, and there is a better version of myself waiting patiently on the other side. This seems fitting for the situation our country is facing.

I’ve been saying this since day one. The only thing these people care about is their pocketbook. Anyone who has had their rights trampled on needs to file a Section 1983 claim against everyone involved. This is the only way this ends.

Thankfully only a handful of organizations and businesses have caved. The vast majority fight without fear.

You do realize this is from an Axios reporter, right? I take their reporting with a grain of salt. Their reporting is selective with a strong bias against democrats, often misrepresenting facts to put Dems in a bad light. Just my take on them.

Signal wasn’t a mistake. It was intentional.

Did the El Salvadoran president say he would return them if the U.S. asked? I thought this was a paid arrangement that the U.S. could end at any time.

The emergency must be from outside the U.S. The economic situation here was caused within the U.S. (not that this matters to this administration)

We *need* to hit them where it matters most. Anyone who has had their rights violated *needs* to be bring Section 1983 claims against every single person involved and sue them for massive damages. They will only stop if can no longer afford to keep violating our rights.

What if what we’re dealing with here is elder abuse, that he is senile and people around him are taking advantage of him and he doesn’t know what’s going on but tries to explain it?

This isn’t who we are, unless we allow it to continue. This is who ICE is. It is who this administration is. It is who republicans in Congress are.

We have our humanity. Where is the humanity of ICE, this administration, and republicans in Congress?
Put the blame where it belongs. Don’t put it on us.

If there were 1 million people, and each person was paid $1,000, and there were no other costs associated with disbursing that amount of money to that many people,
it would have been approximately .3% of Musk’s purported net worth.

This is such a bad look for The Atlantic. Whoever wrote this and approved it needs to get a pair of glasses and get outside to see the massive protests happening today all across the country, dwarfing the size of the protests during his first term.

If they cannot return him, everyone involved has committed felonies. Two that immediately come to mind are conspiracy to human trafficking and conspiracy to kidnapping.

They’re basically admitting to human trafficking, kidnapping, and other crimes.

Then each ICE agent and other officials involved have committed felonies and should be arrested.

Let’s go a bit further. Let’s say their average monthly expenses is $100,000. Their net income for the year is:
$698,800,000.
comment in response to

Let’s say their living expenses are a bit higher. Let’s say $30,000 per month. This equals $360,000 per year, and leaves them with, … wait for it…
$699,640,000 per year.
comment in response to

Let’s say they have average living expenses like average people of $6,500 per month. This would leave them with:
$699,922,000 per year.

People need to sue him personally. If DOGE is not a lawfully created government entity and if DOGE is not a lawfully registered private entity, DOGE is a partnership and all partners can be held personally liable for damages caused by the group.

Elon Musk has a purported net worth of $345,000,000,000.
He spent around $25,000,000 on the Wisconsin election.
To put this in “normal person” terms, if his net worth was $3.5M, it’s like spending $250.
Or if his net worth was $350,000, it’s like spending $25.

It would help if the MSM covered protests and town halls, among other anti-authoritarian efforts. I think more people would join these efforts if they knew what was happening, that it’s larger than the media is portraying, and how to get involved.

The WH will continue putting out this garbage until staff start being held personally financially accountable. Someone has got to start asserting Section 1983 claims naming people individually.
