America has never been broke. It’s just violently anti-poor. Troops in LA cost $134M — the price of 44 million school lunches. But sure, let’s keep pretending the issue is lazy parents and not a government that eats kids for breakfast.

- illegally send the marines to crack skulls of protesters & protect ICE gestapo while they raid schools - give overtly political & authoritarian speech to active duty military - send tanks in DC for a police state parade This is all in 1 day, fascism is here & its never been this naked & obvious

I know people who really don't like him, but will still vote for him out of duty to the Republican Party (they think it's the right thing to do, as in "pro life"). So, don't assume all "unfavorable" responses are people who won't support him.

This is what it looks like without a United States Congress.

I keep seeing people suggest that Trump is trying to start a civil war and, y’all, his base has, as far as they know, been in a civil war for years now.

The disparity btwn what’s actually happening in Los Angeles and the way it’s being mischaracterized is one of the biggest stress tests of modern media in recent memory. Botted socials, AI, old clips, declining literacy—it’s like seeing a broken emergency response system hit by a storm.

This isn't supposed to happen in America. Illegal use of our armed forces.

you'd think the end of all federal consumer protection, public safety enforcement, and corporate oversight would be bigger news outside of a handful of outlets like propublica, the media couldn't care less

We should never let ourselves get desensitized to this. It can’t be overstated how outrageously unpresidential and un-American it is for Donald Trump to speak to the US military like they’re his partisan personal army.

Once again, these guys don't believe in the rule of law and they are willing to go to pretty extraordinary lengths to make Trump a king, in effect. Congress must assert their rightful authority over spending.

Resist and refute the propaganda that people who protest Trump "hate America". Trump and the GOP are making a mockery of our country, constitution, and laws. It's him who doesn't give a shit about America or Americans. Only his power and money.

Just to be clear 1. It has not been invoked 2. They have invoked one statute, and it very clearly does not allow commandeering state nat guard without consulting the governor, much less sending in marines

I’ve seen a lot of “the left is blowing this race by uniting behind a socialist like Zohran” takes but not enough “the establishment/center is blowing this race by uniting behind a sexual harasser/corrupt weirdo like Cuomo” takes

Boycott Uber. Take public transit, bike or walk. If you must use rideshare hail a cab or call a Lyft. Do not give Uber your money.

Law enforcement is violently targeting press at protests around Los Angeles, from easily recognizable "mainstream" outlets to freelancers and independents. ALL press have explicit legal protections in California. #JournalismIsNotACrime. This evidence thread may get graphic. 🧵👇

Be cautious about what videos and media you consume during this escalation

If you are National Guard or Active Duty military and you are being ordered to violate the constitutional rights of US citizens then this is the number to the GI Rights Hotline. There is support. You don’t have to go through with it. 877-447-4487

Heads up, fellow white people whose communities aren't as threatened right now:
