Right. I'm a northern European. I thought we did nothing loudly or express anything in public.

I love snapspeed and this is lovely.

Thank you! It's also a veteran of the last party so I don't know if this gives it 'Hero of the crappy Union' status or something?

My one has the much simpler shutter they put on later models. Slightly less good than the equivalent basic 9x12 you would see in western versions. However the lens is distinctly non crappy.

Soon I will hate myself for liking 9x12 cameras despite metal film holders being the worst.

Best tidbit about this (and afraid I have no idea how true). Is that when they returned to the Buffalo area (after spoiler alert, not succeeding) the US government just paid for their train home and gave them back their guns on the understanding the don't use them to try and invade Canada again.

Thanks Rich!

Absolutely the last place I want AI anywhere near is highly safety regulated and company confidential code.

I've been tempted by that book. It sits at the apex of my interests in old cars, architecture and photography....come to think of it I'm not sure why I don't own it yet.

Funnily enough this has made me remember I always kinda fancied a Leica Sofort. A similarly overpriced fun camera.

I was interested enough to look that feature up. That is something I would really enjoy playing with. That said it's pricey!

Who find it hard to pick apart truth from the fiction of our darkest thoughts. Well it's a bit galling to be told oh it's fine, you aren't lll, just rational!

I'm sort of enjoying the novelty 😀

We really need it though.

I have the little Pentax and while it's a lovely little thing to use even I have my limits for the quality of my images (and I've used 100 year old expired glass plates). It's fun now and again though.

So glad that post covid the stupid era of getting a flight on this airline to Dublin for a 2 hour meeting and then flying home again is over.

I may be biased because I have a huge soft spot for Palace but I am thrilled for them. They seem well run, have great support and winning isn't just another trophy to them.

Oof hard choice but I am a Mercedes Stan so Gullwing please.

FYI 'FlyingOmnibus' got fined massively a few years ago. It was a whopper for systemic corruption. Arseholes at the top means we now all lengthy training about the dangers of hiring your friends catering company to do your seminar lunches etc.

Brilliant bit of public architecture that building. We spent ages up there when we visited a couple of years ago.

I like Veronica. My one of these is Bronwen.

Always enjoy a trip in a plane with whirly things out front.

I've always found Russian optics to be good with lenses so without all the complex mechanicals their bins' should be decent.

But they get used for birding when I am out and about with my Wife who is the real birdwatcher.

They are 'Tento' 10x50s I don't really know that much more about them. My Dad bought them for me, probably not long after the USSR ceased to be. They seem pretty decent but I'm not a classic binocular expert.

We try and avoid listening to them until the semi finals so I have no idea. I do hope it's all a bit more cheerful than last year. There was a strange and not very welcome pall of anger over the whole thing.

We will have a look. I'd be tempted but it would complicate things a bit since really we need to fly to either Tokyo or Osaka and Yakushima is definitely where we want to go so current idea is to split the trip between Osaka and Yakushima.
comment in response to post
Not actually planning to go to Okinawa but go on a moss safari in Yakushima. Idea would be January as it is sub tropical and January in the UK is not.

I've seen this car too. I think it might live in the Battersea Power Station development. It's a very nice Mercedes but I really don't get private plates. I'd prefer another Mercedes.

Fabulous find. I already have a camera in mind for the party (which I already own) but tempted by something silly like a Sputnik..
