The speed with which the country is disassembling! I keep wondering how the regime thinks the US will function without Black and brown people, in a white fantasia. The people left won’t be able to feed themselves, heal themselves, build their homes, or flavor their food. What a choice!

“When I was a kid, I lived for summer. I didn't live in fear of fire season.” Future children deserve to live for summer too. They deserve to live period.

My thoughts on what’s going on in Los Angeles:

I thought waaay better of novelist and nonfiction writer David Richards too. Shocking in both cases.

This would pair nicely with lowering Canada’s carbon emissions. We can apparently do big things.

When he said he was going to be “a dictator for just one day,” what day was he talking about?

Or, in the case of Alberta "separatists," thinking "the US is a friendly, great, congenial country, and we'd like to ditch Canada and be 4th-class Americans" (at best).

Just looked up and a great blue heron was flying by on its way to the river. I feel bad for all the beings who live outside though in the smoke.

This is the consumer power Danielle Smith wants Albertans to surrender:

Are you curious about expanding your social research practice to include nonhuman species, but don’t know where to start? Come and join this immersive three-day workshop at the University of Manchester, with a mix of indoor seminars and outdoor fieldwork: store.southampton.ac.uk/short-course...

If there was an association for people whose minds are totally subsumed by oil and gas, such as the Smith woman, it would be called Bitumensa.

Everyone who drinks from the Old Man River downstream from Rocky Mt. east slope coal projects should show up at this Ft. Macleod town hall. Those who irrigate food crops using OMR water should also be there. Let Smith and Co. know how you feel. That's the scariest bunch of Grifters I have ever seen

“Canada’s fires aren’t “back” because they never went away. North America’s 2023 fire season — the worst in Canadian history — has never really ended. […] The continent has been burning — above and below ground — all the way through the winter of 2024.“ www.thestar.com/opinion/cont...

The smoke has just arrived here. It’s come to its source.

Long thread but very helpful in exposing the UCP's deliberate destruction of Alberta. Smith & UCP didn't get these ideas from air. These changes line up nicely with the Project2025 Agenda MAGA uses in the US. #abpoli #cdnpoli

Weekend thought: Why do people get so twisted up over unhoused people smoking drugs as they step over them but seem unable to point a finger when oil companies blow forest fire smoke straight into their kids' lungs for weeks on end?

FFS:

Are Alberta and Ontario having a measles race? (Sarcasm)

If humans can’t even refrain from exploiting the marvelous seahorses, what hope is there? No one needs a dried seahorse.

and now this

chat is it normal to invite the head of a govt alleged to have been involved in the extrajudicial killing a canadian citizen on canadian soil to canada asking for a diaspora
