It would be easy to clear it up if we could actually identify the person shooting the rubber bullet to ask...

Definitely not "appears" — there's no one standing near her. The videographer turns around, it's hard to see who else could be in the line of fire. Sick. But I posted a vid earlier of a man who got out of his car to start documenting what ICE was doing, they said to gas/hit people w/cameras.

🥴 SMDH. You have to wonder — when we don't have direct video evidence — how editors decide what we learn about what goes on in the field.

And the media wonders by we would rather have transcripts and video rather than their "editorial interpretation," aka sane-washing. Too many times editorial judgment is poor, skewed, lazy, or simply incompetent.

There's no crossfire that I could see in that video. That's directly how 9 News Australia reported it.

Here's the footage and full report, directly from 9 News Australia, in widescreen 16x9: "US Correspondent Lauren Tomasi has been caught in the crossfire as the LAPD fired rubber bullets at protesters in the heart of Los Angeles." 📺 youtu.be/t42UBBolOvo?...

My sense is that what is happening in LA is about moving the Overton Window. If he can normalize threatening to use Marines, federalizing the Guard without gubernatorial approval, and misusing federal powers in response to minor protests, he sets expectations for what he "can" do during major ones.

The fact that all of this was openly outlined in Project 2025 makes it more painful. Miller's transparently racist America First Legal was one of P2025's advisory orgs. Temu Goebbels even appears in Heritage's "Presidential Administration Academy" promo video (@ 43 sec: youtu.be/lTw6SNI3SR4?...).

And the predictable response from Temu Goebbels & a clap back by Chuck Todd...
