It’s hilarious how Trump wants everyone to be loyal to him but he has no loyalty to anyone. Yet, they still continue to support him.

The majority of cops and the super-majority of sheriffs are racists whose biggest cause if stress in their lives is that if they kill a non-white person that they'll have to spend half a day doing paperwork before starting a 3 month vacation of sorts behind a desk surfing the internet.

I’m convinced that the masked people who assist in arresting people openly are members of the pardoned groups like Proud Boys etc… Someone needs to help expose them Please help us the people Renate Ryan Hawaii

The court can appoint its own marshals if the marshal service has gone rogue. It’s in the Constitution!
comment in response to post
It’s urgent we restore separation of powers in our Constitution (Articles I, II, III). The Judiciary Act of 1789, Section 27 creates the US Marshals Service as an arm of the federal judiciary with powers to: •Serve subpoenas/warrants •Make arrests •Provide courtroom security  •Enforce court orders

and Donald Trump’s Cabinet and senior White House advisors, I would never rely upon the U.S. Marshal’s Service for my protection, were I still a sitting federal judge. How could anyone?

In discussing this extraordinary development with Ali Velshi this morning, I had to admit that, given the continuing unprecedented and vicious personal attacks and threats on the federal courts and federal judges by the President, Vice President Vance, Attorney General Pam Bondi,

They cannot trust this president and this Attorney General to ensure their protection.

It is an extraordinary and unprecedented development in American history that the Nation’s Federal Judiciary would have to consider having its own security force because federal judges cannot trust the U.S. Marshal’s Service under this President and his Attorney General.

in escalation of the President’s war on the Federal Judiciary, America’s system of justice, and the Rule of Law. Pam Bondi recently said on national television that judges are “deranged” and think they are above the law.

both of whom have been viciously attacking the Federal Judiciary and even individual judges who have ruled against Trump and his Administration over the past four months,

The Marshal’s Service has historically provided security protection for federal judges. But the Marshal’s Service is housed in the Department of Justice and reports to Attorney General Pam Bondi and Donald Trump,

I still wonder about cheating including musk and the voting machines plus my own experience not receiving my absentee ballot. I prefer the cheating theory because the thought of 77 million people being stupid and racist enough to vote for him is too scary to think about.

it still boggles my mind that seventy-seven million americans thought this was the better choice over a smart black lady with a funny laugh

Vaccines readily available, you wouldn’t be snatched off the street by mask wearing thugs for writing an op-ed, he also didn’t take a 400 million dollar plane for himself, install drunks and lunatics in the highest echelons of the cabinet
comment in response to post
Meanwhile the really big news is still about the ex-President’s declining mental faculties. You know the one who managed to leave the country with a booming economy, no tariffs or soaring price rises, medical care, planes managing not to fall from the sky, foreign leaders not humiliated in public.

Tapper’s book on Trump’s cognitive decline is due to be released in time for Christmas sales in 2028.

Where is your book on the obvious cognitive decline of Trump @jaketapper.bsky.social ? Surely you're not the shameless hypocrite everyone thinks you are?

Unsigned, on the shadow docket, without briefing or argument. They aren't even pretending to be a real court anymore.

💯- and also becomes, by definition, “Presidents could have done this all long really. Not sure why they didn’t. Strange. But Trump just figured it out so that’s that.”

To be clear: Congress has passed very specific laws about when particular officials may or may not be fired, under both parties, over the last hundred years, and the Supreme Court just threw all those laws in the garbage and said Congress doesn't have the power to decide how government operates.

The next time Roberts is butt hurt that the Court’s reputation sucks, someone show him this ruling and tell him to GF himself.

Another instance of right-wing SCOTUS members giving a big “FU” to stare decisis, Not because of some new, unearthed rule or discovery, *but because they can*

I want to know the process that led to this moment: "Unless . . . unless the majority thinks it has provided a hint."
comment in response to post
This is honestly one of the most ridiculous sentences: "A stay is appropriate to avoid the disruptive effect of the repeated removal and reinstatement of officers during the pendency of this litigation." They are the Supreme Court. Their decision would have ended "the disruptive effect."

They’re not only overturning precedent on the shadow docket, but ~deciding~ other cases in a non-binding (dicta) way to give cover for these actions. Today, this unnamed group of conservative justices, not even claiming this is “per curiam,” say that the Federal Reserve is different. Sure.

Social Security is protected by the Congressional Budget Act. They can't cut it at all without 60 votes…which is probably why they're so eager to get rid of the filibuster all of a sudden. Fuuuuuuuck.
comment in response to post
Oh they've been itching to cut Medicare for DECADES. They'll hit Social Security next. Since they don't need to worry about the votes of seniors anymore - now that Trump and Republicans never plan on leaving office.

3/ COVID but it’s definitely back in effect. Now in practice the Senate is probably going to tear this bill up. Or maybe. But every marginal House Republican is about to vote for a bill that requires half a trillion in cuts to Medicare. So good luck with that next year whether the senate changes …
