Tech massively overhired in 2021 and 2022, cut a lot in 2023 and 2024, and still needs to cut more because revenue growth is NOT coming from AI. Nevertheless they can conveniently say "oh boy, AI is automating stuff" knowing the tech/biz media won't argue lol

An extension of "debate culture" among white people is a politics of "persuasion." However politics is usually who has enough power to impose their will [lots of people don't want to acknowledge this because it seems unseemly.]

I think most people are trained by media to think catastrophies occur suddenly and without warning. So when they see it unfolding to someone else somewhere far away, they can't see the danger creeping towards them.

The main "problem" with welfare programs is that they prevent the "losers" of society from dying out. It's the form of eugenics that is acceptable to more people, because even many "progressive" people still have some underlying beliefs that amount to social hierarchies if fully examined.

This feels perfectly consistent with the underlying goals of the right.
Most of them aren't against government giving people money. It just shouldn't be for the general welfare of all people. As long as it's gatekept from the undesirables (most people) it's fine.
