Faith is to be respected and you are free to have an opinion about it provided you do not discriminate.

Speech/opinions are not protected characteristics thank God.

I'm only 67 so never had it. Not really sure how it works but I'm sure I don't need it.

The allowance is shared if a couple and both are pensioners. There's nothing I can see though that indicates it is based on household income.

That would make sense

Priorities I guess.

Senseless, it's not like they haven't had a few months to think about it but it does qualify as cig packet policy.

From my sedentary position, it was all quite obvious and going on as promised but I guess, the image is blurred when close to the action.

Fox news June 15th "6 million turned up at DC just to get a glimpse of the supreme leader and voice their gratefulness for his leadership on this day on wich God graced us with his warmth by parting the clouds and letting the sun shine for our saint and saviour DJTrump"

In England. (maybe other countries) I don't perceive the French as being obsessed with owning big things. I don't get why the difference.

The troops would have to be on board though. Generals have already said they serve the constitution, not a king.

You mean it wasn't?

Predictable though.

Especially considering DOGE was already done and was called the DOGEy Dave unit.

That was 18 months ago and this week, Labour just scrape through in a bi election. It paints a fuzzy picture.

I guess it was liberal minded people who weren't buying Teslas. Now it's MAGAs as well.

That's a different question. We're not going to agree so please give it up.

I'm saying some do and they should get help.

You're speaking in general terms as if all pensioners were the same. I don't need any extra help wich doesn't mean someone else doesn't. You admited yourself that a pensioner with £600 rent would need housing benefits. That is extra help.

No we're not.

It's a blurred picture isn't it? They argue that WFP should come back, abolish 2 child policy and raise the threshold for tax to £20k which is to the left of conservatives. Tax cuts for the rich aswell and no clue how they're going to pay for it swings The pendulum all the way over.

I'm not arguing, you are.

You're right but it's not gonna happen. 🤷 Reform are pro PR but they've got to the point when FPTP serves then better so expect to not hear Farage mention it again.

They believed he was telling the truth even though he was a proven liar and that is all within human nature. Like an abused wife who goes back because: "he's really sorry, he said he won't do it again.." I find it easy to understand why they voted for him.

So yes, very much a loveless landslide and alarm bells should be ringing loud because on another low turn out it wouldn't be dificult for a crank like Farage winning the next election. Labour, for all. Their fault,in my view, is the only viable and sensible party who can form a credible government.

Pensioners should be able to live, not just survive.

There's a lot of ifs there. If they don't live in social housing though, they'll have a rent of probably £600 per month, bills about £150 if they're careful, council tax £100 minimum food about £150. If they have a car another £60 on tax and insurance and that's before they put any petrol in....

Which is a vote in itself.

What if they are single and not own their own home? Add bills and council tax, doesn't leave much at end of month.

We're all essentially selfish to different levels. People are good but they're just people.

I have more faith in people than you do in that case, I believe people are mostly good but motivated by self interest.

Give them an excuse to introduce more authoritarian policies.

Not all voters are supporters. They are guilty of believing a lie.
