The Tigers bullpen is a mess.

With Jobe out probably until 2027, the Tigers will have to acquire a solid number 2 or 3 starter at the trade deadline to stay in contention. Pitching chaos every other night won’t cut it this time, as demonstrated by tonight’s ugly bullpen collapse.

If the Tigers go looking for bullpen help at the trade deadline, my top target would be Aroldis Chapman.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 10 p.m. for Livingston, Washtenaw, and Lenawee counties

The Tigers are good at a lot of things. Scoring ghost runners in extra-inning games is not one of them.

The Tigers are 71-34 in regular season games since August 10 last year.

It was fun while it lasted with Baez.

I’d rather keep Baez in CF. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Only play Perez when someone needs a day off and let Vierling and McKinstry platoon at third.

Tigers should not wait for the trade deadline. If they are to have any hope of winning the division, they have to make a slew of deals now. A closer, another starter, 2 big power hitters.

Tigers will lose in extra innings

The Tigers won’t win the division because they are incapable of beating Cleveland.

I doubt the Tigers will beat Cleveland at all this season.

The Guardians are going to sweep this series. They own the Tigers.

The best the Tigers can hope for is a split. A Guardians sweep is more likely.

As good as the Tigers are, they always look bad against Cleveland. The games are never close.

Pitching chaos isn’t going to work for the Tigers this season, because the bullpen is sketchy, bordering on shaky. They don’t have to make any moves now, but a closer and a middle reliever should be high on their list, and possibly a starter if Mize doesn’t come back.

The Tigers’ bullpen is showing cracks. I don’t trust them to hold leads anymore. Fortunately they have the assets to trade for a top closer at the deadline.

The Tigers bullpen was exceptional last season, a fact highlighted by how mediocre they are this season.

Torres is a terrible base runner. 2 games, 2 TOOTBLANs.

2025 Flaherty looks like 2023 Flaherty.

Saying that Knicks fans will be insufferable if their team wins the NBA Finals presupposes that they aren’t already, does it not?

Is there a minimum number of games in a minor league rehab stint? If not, the Tigers need to bring Matt Vierling back as soon as humanly possible because Jace Jung is awful. Send him to Lakeland for a couple years.

With Mize out for a while and Flaherty flagging, the Tigers bullpen’s going to get a lot of work in May.

Signing Flaherty was a risk, but relatively minor one.

DeGrom is back. Might set the single-game strikeout record tonight.

Flaherty will give up the long ball.

To be fair, though, I can’t tell the difference between Richard Marx and Bryan Adams.

I’m certain a lot of people don’t know the difference between Karl Marx and Richard Marx.

RIP Chet Lemon.

The curse is broken. Harry Kane has his trophy and Bayern reclaim the Meisterschale.

Bayern have enough points to win the league based on goal differential. Leverkusen would need to win its last 3 matches by an average of 10 goals each to have a shot. And that assumes Bayern lose their last 2.

Bayern are going to blow it, aren’t they?

I would like to see the Pistons add another scorer, upgrade the roster a bit. But I’m in no rush with this team. The core players are all under 25 and made big leaps this season. No need to break it all up to get an expensive, aging player. They’ve earned some patience.

The Tigers went 18-9 in April.

Great season for the Pistons. It didn’t end they way they wanted, but they got a taste of the playoffs and have something to build on next season. Need to add another star to help Cade, and hit the weight room (Knicks roughed them up pretty good).

The Pistons might get that foul call next season, but there’s a hierarchy among NBA refs. They favor more experienced, more talented teams. They want to send newcomers a message—you want the call, you have to earn it.

The Pistons are good and they’re young, but they lack star power. Cade can’t do it himself. They need to make some moves in the offseason if they want to go beyond the first round.

The Pistons don’t know how to finish. Another fourth quarter collapse. And no chance to win a home playoff game until next year. Series ends Tuesday at MSG.

The Knicks are so confident that they took KAT and Brunson out with :46 left in a 1 point game because they know the Pistons wouldn’t win.

Happy “Put Mel Kiper and His Worn-Out Draft Cliches And Outdated Analysis In Mothballs Until Next April” Day to all who celebrate.

I like that the Lions are building depth on the O-line.

I hate that the Lions don’t have another pick until the sixth round because they probably won’t get Cam Skattebo, who I think would be a perfect fit.

The Tigers have the best record in the American League.

Maybe Shedeur Sanders just isn’t that good.
