He didnโt pick a side. He was on the side of the people. It got him and his colleagues exiled. He lived in France for decades until Vietnam granted his return to live out the last few years of his life.

I didnโt know then, but a young Vietnamese Buddhist monk had worked tirelessly and peacefully for many years to bring medical care, food and other life-support to those in Vietnam impacted by the war. He lobbied for the end of the war to all who would listen .
