Based upon years of experience, I have come to the conclusion that it is almost impossible to dissuade cats from doing whatever it is that they want to do.

Until he starts advocating for women’s reproductive rights and the right of women to be priests, I don’t care what the pope thinks or says.

Yeah, well. As if. Do you see any of our Dem leaders actually articulating a plan, because I don’t see anything like that.

As if. All my Democratic Party does is issue weak demands.

IKR? I’ll always vote for Dems unless there is seriously a viable, progressive 3rd party, as opposed to a disaster of a vote for a 3rd party candidate who’ll throw an election to a Rethug. Dems MUST get serious. It’s all so appalling. I’m over handwringing!

That won’t stop them. They don’t care.

You & that guy waiting for Godot have a lot in common.

That’s interesting. I’ll have to try lemon juice. Otherwise, my salad looks like yours minus onions.

I’m sure your dog looks better when s/he eats it.

Yum! I make cold lentil salad too, with lentils du Puy (my MIL was from there) & one of my husband’s cousins is a lentil farmer there). Do you make yours with a red wine vinegar vinaigrette?

This is great! I was thinking just yesterday that law school clinics should offer help in obtaining Zoom immigration hearings. Zoom hearings were held in civil court throughout the pandemic & I don’t see why it shouldn’t be available for immigration hearings.

Those are stunning #s. Bezos can afford to tank a once- excellent newspaper. I suppose he thinks it’s worth it because he wants democracy to die in darkness.

Now, we understand through living during these times the personality characteristics of Nazi concentration camp guards. Seemingly ordinary people can be monsters.

No, the drivers are not employees. They’re contractors w/the platform Door Dash through which restaurant takeout orders are placed for delivery. The platform charges customers a service fee, a delivery fee & the customer tips the driver. The restaurant also pays them a fee. It’s absurd.

NASA & the Defense Department give lots of money to Muskrat’s space programs.

I hadn’t realized until then. It’s not worth it.

I love that!

The weather is fantastic but imho, there’s not much more to LA. I lived there for 2 years & meh. My bf at the time had a motorcycle & we would wipe black grit off of our faces after each ride.

I love that. When I look at a city such as Los Angeles, I can’t believe it never invested in serious rapid transit.

Btw, how is the RATP extension project going in Paris? It seems huge.

I once bought an online ticket from SNCF (in the early days of such things) & a bevy of conductors gathered around to examine it & declared it invalid. I had to buy another. šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

That must be lovely to observe.

When are people at NASA going to realize Muskrat isn’t very good at this & stop giving him money? His rockets explode with alarming frequency.

A friend’s parents lived in Pico Rivera many years ago. At the time, it was a 100% Chicano neighborhood. I wonder about the demographics, now.

That’s a good first step. Adults should be able to enter for free, as well so they are likely to bring their kid ds. See, The Smithsonian.

Some are able to learn from their terrible history. Others, are not so inclined, either by nature or choice.

They’re both correct, surprisingly.

I approve of your idea.

Yeah. When the Arab Spring happened, I worked closely w/an Egyptian-born Christian on some litigation. I asked her what she thought about it since she still had family trapped in Egypt & she replied: What are they going to replace it with. She didn’t believe they were capable of positive change.

Doctors & nurses, too. A few of my family members have been in the hospital over the last few years & quite a few doctors & nurses were obviously foreign born, given their accents when speaking English, which is great.
