The texture in the fur (I think I see lines?) makes it seem like you could go springer (or other similar) spaniel. Does it have a full tail?

Sounds amazing!

It was easier not to think about all that! There was little incentive to, either. But these truths need to be faced, and part of my growing-up was learning to do that - without pretending, without avoidance. Crimes don't just go away if you don't think about them; history will teach you that. (9/10)

The National Science Foundation (NSF) is responsible for funding many of the tech advancements we know today, from MRIs to the internet. The NSF is required by Congress to expand the participation of underrepresented people in STEM programs to help maintain American leadership into the future.

4) Even if nothing immediate comes from a research project, that project still employed people who spent money in their local economy, which is often in a poor rural area. And that project still trained future scientists who can work on other things in the future.

I have hosted/mentored HS students in research labs (both as a grad student and as faculty) and had great experiences! But...it was always through an established program, so someone else took care of all the "having minors in labs" administrative details.

Tell the story of the career federal worker who was the best at what they do & worked hard every day, and is now worried about how to pay the mortgage. The NIH scientists who had to walk away from potential health breakthroughs. The fired NOAA weather forecasters. Check in on them, & how they feel.

Thanks! Great thing to mention!

I'm trying to have a really balanced discussion of academia, government, industry, and "other" opportunities. Having done a government post-doc (and coming from mass spectrometry, where I think academia is the exception), I definitely don't push academia or bust! Thanks for your perspective :)

LLMs do not think, feel, reason, or communicate with intention. They cannot read. They do not write. They have no experience of the world. This is the opposite of the kind of feedback a nine-year-old needs on their writing. That we have teachers and system that believe otherwise, very very bad.
