Vale Tinkerbell. b. 01/06/2007 d. 25/05/2025. A good and faithful cat.

A growing list of cases including this one here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Activis... No wonder Musk told his followers to stop supporting Wikipedia

Trump's "Executive Orders" are, in plain English, diktats, which makes him ... er ... a diktator? Have I got that right?

If I'd ordered this and not been served breaded spleen stuffed with cheese, I'd be very disappointed. #WhyPunctuationMatters

Never forget the 5 Ps Principle: Proper Procrasination Prevents Premature Performance.

Christmas Eve highlights.

Musk is going to disband all of SpaceX's regulators and competitors, isn't he?

Some rando called Tammy-many-numbers has followed me. Tammy has a screw loose. It's there on the shelf behind her.

In lieu of sending out Christmas cards to everyone I know, I've once again made a donation to the very excellent www.refuweegee.co.uk. So, have yourselves a very happy Christmas, and may the New Year be all you may wish for yourselves and those you love. Patrick

Nationalising essential utilities – like water – should not cost taxpayers anything at all youtu.be/TlVbKVBLOiM?... Labour claims taxpayers would face a massive bill for nationalising the water industry. But that’s not true.

If your country has a lot of hydro power then any installation of intermittent renewables automatically gets grid storage. Every hour on a panel, every rotation of a wind turbine means less water through a dam which is saved for later when the wind doesn't blow or the sun doesn't shine.

A frosty morning here in #Argyll, with a wintry dawn. Nice to work from home this morning.

20 years ago today, I moved to Argyll.

It's a sobering thing seeing your job advertised ... but I can heartily recommend this Principal #EHO job here in Argyll and Bute. If you're looking for a rewarding health and safety role with great colleagues, click the link. myjobscotland.gov.uk/councils/arg...

This is going to be fun!

Hello and welcome to even more new followers! I’m a social historian from Glasgow and have been working on an LGBT+ history project in Belfast. As part of this I wrote about Henry Lynch Robinson, a ‘flamboyant’ architect… www.queerhistoryni.com/blog/henry-l...

I naively thought we could one day take back and 'save' the bird app, but I see now that was foolish. Mea culpa for taking so long to do so, but I've downloaded my archive and closed up shop there now. Here for early medieval nerdery, and @almostarch.bsky.social for pop culture archaeology madness

Hello lovely followers! Given - ahem - global events and constantly worsening state of Twitter it seems wise to start preparing to end use of that platform, and make this my primary outlet. However so far, only got about 5% of the following carried over. If you can gies a wee boost, I'd be thankful!

Good morning.

was asked to provide some quotes for an obituary for David Knowles, my friend and ex-boyfriend; I think they'll only use a couple of the sentences I sent but I wanted to put the whole thing somewhere
