This (I hope!). I keep thinking of a new Arts and Crafts movement -- the handmade being the only mark that a human was involved, the only differentiator in a world of AI noise.

Ncuti's got my 13 year old onboard with Doctor Who for the first time -- he's relentlessly charming and powerful. (And she swooned over the Jonathan Groff / Bridgerton episode.) Been loving it here.

🔥 This also reminds me that I learned the one-leg lean from Nicole Kidman, talking about trying to emasculate her shorter then-husband Tom Cruise slightly less on the red carpet.

Oh, @gregvaneekhout.bsky.social, my 10 year old who loved VOYAGE OF THE DOGS as a read-aloud when she was three rediscovered it this week. Read it in a single day, sobbed several times, couldn't stop talking about it. Was very glad the chickens were safe.

Ooh - looking forward to your read on it all... Brasso really got me on my re-watch ahead of S2 - secondary character with that much humanity, in the writing and the performance.

I mean, my strategy has been to write them all really slowly, and then have five books ready at the same time a decade later... maybe it's for you, too?

"Tell him, none of this is his fault. It was already burning. He's just the first spark of the fire. He knows everything he needs to know and feels everything he needs to feel. And when the day comes when those two pull together, he will be an unstoppable force for good.

sounds about right! there are some lines to draw between him and the dumb egotism of other SV pseudo-intellectuals (karp and his new book have been on my mind, but thiel, musk, bezos, etc.), and how their ideas have found audience
