Is this an intervention to help or just settle some scores?

Sorry, rather deficit expanded by further 15bn than forecast www.ons.gov.uk/economy/gove...

Nobody wants to pay and the deficit has just expanded to 19bn. Business not happy with NiC etc, middle class not happy with fiscal drag, pensioners not happy with winter fuel. Its one constituency and its a story of that constituencies mood to life today. Different elsewhere.

Hackney will go, Barlaser hasn't threatened securing a first team place for 2 seasons. Complete new centre mid needed, Azaz has decent stats but for what? He can't press, can't tackle and can't defend set pieces. You won't say that about any Leeds, Burnley or Sheff Utd player attacking player.

I assume a par finish for Boro is 8th. Get into playoffs good season, finish 10th underperformed. As a whole setup this year its been bang average. Team is not greater than the sum of its parts, its worse. Recruitment in January, poor (exception Iling-Jr). Doesn't feel like Y2 of a 3yr project

Quite a lot of other teams you would have expected to be pushing for playoffs have had quite indifferent seasons too. West Brom, Norwich, Watford and of course Luton. Top4 seem to have that winning mentality whereas the chasers have all been a bit meh.

Great thread. I grew up on Teesside, friends had parents with management jobs at British Steel or ICI. Disappeared with globalisation. Cuts to local, shift to central government, offshoring IT. Online banking/services. Everyone knew a bank manager growing up. Basically capitalism innit.

I once had a very pleasant exchange with an economist about freeports. I think his name was Yoney Tates or something.
