This is regardless of whether they're paid in claps on the back, Twinkies, sex, or gold bars :)

You're right. Better to know ahead of time.

1) Wasn't a Russian character saying it. 2) Not recognizing the word shit makes using it relatively pointless.

Thought writing & drawing a Moon Knight story, then an Avengers story would change that. Should've been excited. Thrilled. Just felt there were parameters in that work that make it limited. I want to explore, cuss now & then, draw a tit, kill a character, use supporting characters more, run risks.

Writers & artists like their space and to be able to work undisturbed. Doesn't mean they can't work on creating an indie story together, especially in the planning stages (indie is the initial subject here, not Marvel). An artist can have input in an indie series. No reason for that not to happen.

A skilled, agile comic writer can incorporate these things into a story and not lose a thing. They may even gain. The artist is also the storyteller.

I'd work closely with an artist on an indie, involve them in story creation. Because they aren't as tethered to an indie. Personal investment matters. Ask: What genre do you want to draw? Is there a kind of scene you've always wanted to illustrate? Is there a type of character you want in the book?

Thank you and hi, Juliet!

While looking for the cover to the edition I read way-back-when. I saw these two reviews. One appreciated Lord Valentine's Castle. One did not. Made me laugh. It's a good book. Silverberg is one of the best of his generation and in that genre. But not everyone would agree.

Quite a problem. Living as a juggler with a performing troupe, Valentine's memory begins to return. In prose style, Silverberg is straightfoward & accessible. But he's also a thoughtful writer and this is not hack 'n' slash fantasy. It's more in the realm of LeGuin's The Wizard of Earthsea.

Why a mess if more people were kind? There will always be someone who copes with their mortality through selfishness, power, and greed. They won't 'see the light' until their death day.

But then, a mass public immaturity, a passing responsibility on to others, again and again and again until the worst govern us, is an old problem. An ancient one.

If you're somewhere on the scale of Not harming Others to Considerate to Kind you can be proud of that.

Still, I'm going to listen to her. She's right about almost everything. Damn it.
