The magic of an ancient Irish forest: St John's Wood, Roscommon. Less than 1/1,000th (<0.1%) of Ireland is now ancient woodland, down from a pre-farming original of around 80%. In effect, over 799 parts out of 800 are gone, and even what's left is largely trashed. Let that sink in.
