Saw a post yesterday from SkyNews (don’t know who posted it - this being BlueSky I can’t find it now) where Sam Coates asked ChatGPT for the transcript of his pod cast that he hadn’t uploaded
It made one up based on previous pods and doubled down inc making up an upload time when challenged.

What proportion of boys and men actually fall for this preposterous horseshit? … and how can those that do, lose sight of reality so completely?

I just called EE to separate my email address from their customer’s account to be told that they can’t do this, nor can they contact the customer to check with them?
Next move?

…and the plan to treble numbers in next decade looks in doubt.
Just posted the above article too, wondering, given the large number of professions that work/alongside with doctors in both primary and secondary care, what the gap that requires PAs to fill it actually is.

There are many professions who work alongside doctors both in General Practice and in secondary care.
What is the gap in the market (in terms of skills) that PA/AAs (or whatever they will be called going forward) is meant to fill?

Did government ever use the term “poll tax”? It was called “community charge” and dubbed a poll tax by its detractors.
NI used to be recorded by buying stamps that were stuck on a card. (Are these the cards referred to when “given your cards”?)

No mention of overdiagnosis, false positives, need for effective interventions. Just the usual assumption that AI and machine learning are by definition good, and if you can identify risk, you can modify it.
If we can't get a critical discussion going on the BMJ podcast what hope is there?

I get the impression that the major achievement of AI in health has been to hypnotise many commentators into losing all their critical faculties: www.hsj.co.uk/daily-insigh...
