The article wasn‘t proposing an immediately imminent collapse of AMOC. The study was looking of the ice equilibrium 200 years after AMOC collapse in a 2 C world (a lot of ice) and a 4 C world (not so much ice). It used unrealistic freshwater input in the North Atlantic for the collapse.

Ja, die Bewertung, was davon noch aktivierbar ist, hat sich aber dramatisch geändert. Von leer Ende des Jahres / nächstes Frühjahr zu leer bereits jetzt, ist ein gewaltiger Unterschied. Was da jetzt noch steht, ist mit hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit nur noch Schrott.

Hier wäre aber auch zu berücksichtigen, dass nach einigen Analysen die Anzahl der reparablen Panzer / PzFzg. aus den Depots ebenfalls erheblich niedriger liegt, als vorher angenommen wurde. Möglicherweise kompensieren sich die Effekte.
