When 'Wasn't Born to Follow' came out in 1968, IMO it was more than a song, it was an anthem for an age: simultaneously a protest against the Vietnam War, and a search for independence. In the Trump era, that song should again be the anthem for our age. We are NOT going to follow...we want peace. 👍

I was at Penn State in 1970 when Kent State happened. I walked into a Speech class the next day, on the 5th of May. As class commenced, the professor stood and calmly said, "Class is over for the year (less than two weeks). You all get a B for the class. Goodbye and good luck." 😊

In 1913, JP Morgan died. Soon after, his net worth was revealed to be approx $85m (1913 dollars). Upon reading of Morgan's death (and subsequent net worth), JD Rockefeller (a billionaire) allegedly said, "And here I thought that he was rich." 😀

Their loyalty is to the Constitution, not to a wannabe dictator. They know it. Show it.

I will say this as nicely as I can: they need to get up off their ass and speak out. Now. Right now. As a civilian, worked in three war zones supporting our brave men and women in the military. And in my opinion, those men and women now serving deserve better leadership than this.

If Mr. Moran had worked for me, I would have said, "Well, what took you so long.?" He accurately described Miller, IMHO and that is his job as a journalist.

Not a lawyer, but I believe she has limited immunity in her position. That means so long as she was acting in good faith, and within the scope of her position, she is fine. But if his attorney can prove either gross negligence or malice, then Bondi is on shaky ground, IMHO.

He needs to sue for defamation. And that includes Fox News, by the way. That is the only way to communicate to people like that. Every time Fox News lies, you stick a lawsuit where the sun doesn't shine.

The accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty. To the extent that he remains innocent pursuant to a trial by his peers, I would hope that he retains counsel in order to entertain defamation claims against Bondi, Fox et al.

The short answer is that Trump is a career criminal who has been committing crimes longer than most peoplel in this country have been alive. And the GOP knows it.

If the Dem's all agree only one thing in 28, it should be this: Tax the (super) Rich. Ike had a 91% top marginal tax rate...and he built the IS highway system, at the same time he paid down the debt from WW2. It is the only way to communicate to Musk, and his cronies.

Some related Watergate trivia: during the waning days of Nixon's term, as tensions heated up with Congress over impeachment, moving vans were seen parked outside of the White House. A not-so-subtle message: GTFO...🤣🤣.

Not sure if you have read it, but recommend 'The Zimmermann Telegram' by Barbara Tuchman. Arguably one of the best writers ever, she details the US entry into WWI, over a telegram from the German govt to the Mexican govt seeking to enjoin them into invading the US. It could be fiction; it's not.

Just for the record: at the turn of the 20thC, the gross revenues of the USG were $700m. John D Rockefeller was worth $1B, & he had more lawyers on staff than the USG. In 1913, when JP Morgan died, his net worth was $85m. When Rockefeller learned this, he replied, "and here I thought he was rich." 🤣

Read about the War of 1812 and the Federalist Party. They were monarchists, aligned with the Brits, a bit like Trump is now with the Russians. And, at a time when the US was moving south and west and becoming more democratic. Once the Brits were defeated, it also killed the Federalist Party.

It seems that Alito wanted to delay the SCOTUS ruling, forcing them to wait while he wrote his dissent. Gotta wonder why? Could it be that he was conspiring with Trump, seeking to delay a sure minority ruling, but giving Trump time for the planes to leave? SCOTUS did not bite...hmmm...😀

The GOP looks at programs like Head Start as a Cost of Goods Sold, in economic terms. But in reality, it is an Investment and, like all investments, is measured not on sunk costs but on return on the capital invested. And Head Start gets an enormous return on the capital employed. We all benefit.
