Had to take ours apart yesterday to change the battery. Took two of us about 20 minutes even with the detailed (but not completely correct) instructions from the manual. Petrified we were going to bugger the thing, it being the only one!

The 'one' key obviously realised I was talking about it because within the hour the car announced that the key battery was low, prompting a battery quest and installation panic resolved by my (now) implausibly proximal branch of Screwfix 😅.

I'm waiting to hear back from the dealers on a "trade price", but strangely they seem to have lost interest immediately following the bank transfer!

My daughter's flatmate recently paid £300 for a replacement key. I can't remember what she drives, but it's small and old so I'm guessing it's not a proximity key. It's a total racket imo.

I'm now feeling particularly suckered, having just bought a car only to discover, after parting with the dosh, that there was only one key. Haven't discovered how much a new one is yet, but fully expecting to be quoted something stupid.
