Absolutely this. The supposed costs - much trumpeted, never itemised - are as nothing compared to the collapse in the value of degrees that will come from "90% of our students are cheating, we're catching nearly none of it, please pay a wage premium for our certificates".

Since Russia says the UN Charter has been violated, there is now a reference in live coverage, but it as if this is only a partisan point by a criminal regime, rather than a claim that might be assessed.

The intentions of the US were obvious for Iraq, yet the media generated volumes of commentary on legality, authority, multilateralism and diplomacy. That was still true for Libya, and at times for Syria. Yet now it is as if those structures never existed, leaving only scattered concerns and prayers.

The publisher has cut their costs by outsourcing to this company, the company has cut their costs by using AI/low-paid staff instead of paying for a proper job, while I’ve spent hours & hours fixing the manuscript, so all the extra labour from cost-costing has fallen on me, the unremunerated author
