I also will repeat that Ro Khanna needs to be thrown out of every progressive space ever. Straight up begging his party to support nazis.

A whole career out of getting 23,847 fewer votes in Michigan than Kamala Harris.

I finally finished this post from @mattpolprof.bsky.social on the the far right canon. Seems like a good Who's Who kind of resource for some names and ideas I'm afraid we'll be stuck with for quite a while.

i see the wise man is closing his eyes again

No elite bubble is more impenetrable than the one in which elite political professionals applaud each other for uttering banalities like these. Little of this "advice" is actionable for Dems in the real world, no matter how hard this bubble discourse pretends otherwise. Grift factor here is large.

Magical things happen when you have a near super majority in Congress

Oooh this could be fun. Chess is underrated and didn't deserve to flop the way it did. That said, there are a bunch of versions of Chess, with different songs and even wildly different plots. I hope they stick to something closer to the more compelling Broadway story.

This is very bad Once they start screwing with the data, that’s the whole ballgame

I'm afraid the American voter, in their incalculable wisdom, will look at this and think DOGE is more than making up for the spending of BBB. 9 is bigger than 2.

Economics literature: Trump's 2018 steel and aluminum raised prices, reduced output, cut employment and reduced wellbeing. Trump, 2025: What if we doubled them? I can't find a *single* study that suggests this is a good idea. Lemme know if you find one.

This is a cursed skeet but that doesn't mean it's wrong.

Yup.

I can already tell I'm going to spend the next few decades furious that none of the mainstream discourse on gender polarization and birth rates approaches this level of clarity.

I'm a little confused by the UK chart. If Britons are so liberal, why are they all Nigel Farage?

"The sheer amount of representation in this series is enough to make any minority group feel like they belong and feel a part of something bigger. As a young queer woman, I have yet to see genuine representation of really lovely sapphic romances." #SaveWOT #WOTSkies

Cowardice crystallized into a think tank.

I’m so excited to announce that my book was published today! The book retells the life of Charles Sumner, an abolitionist senator who co-framed the Reconstruction Amendments. I wrote this book with my blood, sweat & tears as a student at Yale Law School. (1/x)

They are straight up speed-running the resegregation of the federal government and the erasure of all non-white male history

www.military.com/daily-news/2... Hegseth's animus toward LGBT people is profound. This renaming is supposed to be in"alignment with president and SECDEF objectives and SECNAV priorities of reestablishing the warrior culture," as if gay people can't serve effectively. It also dishonors an/

Listen to this construction worker talk about how trump’s deportations are hurting the construction industry and it’s workers! We need MORE OF THIS!! SPEAK UP!!

I skimmed a lot of this book yesterday. The famous takeaway is that the abolition of the slave trade had more to do with economic interests than morality. But alongside this is a (Smithian!) case for how monopoly & slavery went hand in hand, and how free trade eroded both. This all seems relevant.

This is what Democrats should be doing right now. One part of it is making the case in public. The other part of it is doing the work NOW to gather evidence for a legal case against these assholes later, so that can move quickly (unlike the Trump cases 2021-2024)

Of course. SWERF *and* TERF. Two foul tastes that taste foul together.

This is great. The crowd chanting "Shame!" seems like it may be really effective. I hope to see lots of communities pick this strategy up.

Very much enjoyed this discussion. I'm unqualified to say what went wrong with what looked like a triumphal march of feminism in the all too brief #MeToo era. But I'm convinced bold feminism is necessary to fight fascism, because patriarchy is at its heart.

Thank you for having me! I genuinely had a wonderful time discussing the various inflection points and rhetorical challenges feminism has faced over the past few decades on the topic of trans people and our increasingly hard to ignore visibility. Please have a look if you wanna hear me yap more :3

reposting with alt text. wild thing to admit out loud! (and to be leaked to a conservative paper, for any bedfellows who either missed or are comfortable ignoring subtext until it is text-text, bold and highlighted!)

put that on a t-shirt WANTED: GOOD SOLDIERS AND LIBERALS WITH AMBITION

On June 2nd, 1975, 100 sex workers gathered at the Saint-Nizier Church in Lyon, France. They demanded an end stigma, criminal penalties and police harassment. They hung a banner which read ‘Our children don’t want their mothers to go to jail’ That was when International Sex workers' Day started.

This is really bad.

"Harriet Tubman, along with Black soldiers, took part in a daring Union raid of Combahee Ferry near Beaufort, South Carolina. She became the first American woman to lead a major military operation when she and at least 150 Black soldiers helped to rescue more than 700 Black Americans..."

This is a fantastic resource with an easy-to-remember name.
