I’ve moved to Clitheroe by mistake. Was a #museum person. Still might be but isn’t sure.

I didn't know they had separated. I confused her with his current partner who stood as a candidate to be an MP for Thanet when I lived there. Also, I have vague recollections about some investigations involving Mrs Bone.

The Conservative winner is called “Bone”. I really don’t have the strength to see if it is who I think it is.

It’s a very different film that barely feels like a sequel. Some bits are really very, very dark. I enjoyed it but understand many won’t.

First digital tool for finding digital stuff: probably Yahoo when working at a university.

The Albert Memorial in London is a copy of the Albert Memorial in Manchester which was built 7 years earlier.

The India Mill chimney in Darwen is a (poor) copy of St Mark’s campanile in Venice. But then the Venice one fell down and was rebuilt so maybe the Venice one is the copy and Darwen has the original? www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3029782

There are some remnants of temperate rainforests still remaining where the sheep haven’t got to them. This map shows the locations. lostrainforestsofbritain.org/2022/12/13/p...

The joys/hazards of having a museum & heritage career outside London. You gotta to to where the work is.

NASA employed Stanley Kubrick to fake the moon landings but he was such a perfectionist he sent astronauts to the moon to make sure the film looked right.

I think that the car is his Jaguar XK150 Fixed Head Coupé.

The thing I like about cock-ups like this is that they send my off down rabbit holes on whether a Spitfire was ever used as a jet test rig/mule. The answer is still “No”.

One of the few (only?) purpose built fishing apprentice lodgings is still there in Ramsgate. Sadly a bit neglected.

It wasn’t a big success, probably because it was so different to the first film. It is much more a George Millar film (the writer-director of the Mad Max films).

It’s a beautiful film. I love “Babe: Pig in the City” too, but it is very, very different.

Yes, I’d hope so too…

I doubt if it’s down to numbers. Could a Green Party with co-leaders and no whip form a coalition with anybody? Sometimes it can’t form a cohesive position with itself (HS2).

Sounds right for me. I’m no specialist so can’t justify the expense of McConnell but always felt Ramsden sounded like an interesting person that I’d like to know a bit more about.

Excellent. I’ll get a copy.

Is Jesse Ramsden covered much in this book?

Ah, yes. Cats in Crisis were cautious about giving us Lilith due to the traffic in Acol. Understandable but frustrating. We’ve always had rescue cats (5+Delilah). Always a bit mad but so rewarding. Yours are beautiful.

Rescued from Cats in Crisis or via the cat distribution system? Delilah at the Powell-Cotton is from Cats in Crisis. She was deemed feral but became incredibly loyal.

I wouldn’t recommend it; it’s unremittingly grim. But if you HAVE to do it I’d do it sooner rather than later. If, at any future point, you have respiratory, circulatory or mobility issues it could cause real problems.

To be fair, the tunnel was closed to pedestrians. But the signage was at the traffic entrance not the pedestrian step entrance so how was I to know?

I see the attraction of this idea but, frankly, cars were only one part of the problem. The ventilation and what looked like a river of human sewage were just awful too. cityinfinity.co.uk/2024/08/05/r...
