Yeah, once you're a Senator, you're a Senator for life, but I feel like a real opportunity has been missed by not calling him Tommy Tatertown at every opportunity Or just deliberately mispronounce his name, as I'm sure he does to every "ethnic" name he comes across

It's nice seeing the wave of engagement farmers show up, realize their schtick doesn't work here, and then leave after a couple of weeks for threads or wherever Except for Mark Cuban shilling for his crypto investments lol. Dude is like a dog worrying a bone with that nonsense

I ordered one of those and they asked if “Sparkling Communist” was okay and I was like sure, fine

In SoCal it tends to be worse in some regions rather than others (deserts & IE are lousy with that stuff, while Orange and LA counties aren’t as bad). My guess is a lot of it is also due to cheap handhelds. I rarely hear call signs or other HAM indicators on those freq’s where it’s prevalent

Haha - I was wondering how much you had to lock it down to deal with the brightness. Your pictures of the facility are great. The black and white works really well for that area

I think Luthen is the thematic opposite of Palpatine on this show. Both have congenial public faces, but cloak their true selves who manipulate events from the shadows. Both only see people as resources to be used and discarded, and both would sacrifice worlds to achieve their larger objectives

Most of the citizenry were down with all this. They were told the plan. There was no subterfuge, no need to engineer a crisis. They were told the Republic and the law would be swept away in favor of a single man's rule, their lives and fortunes subject to his whims, and they were like, "okay sure"

They're led by a gutless wonder who fell ass-backwards into winning a 30-year social, cultural and political war to install an authoritarian government planned and financed by others who thought *they* were going to inherit it all, but got snookered by the very dipshits they were manipulating

Look at the Empire: it's run by people who are good at their jobs. They're locked down. Cold. Calculating. They're led by a man who brilliantly culminated a 1,000 year plan to seize power and dominate the galaxy. Our misfits look like a bunch of monkeys trying to fuck a football
