My brain cannot even connect Andor being canon with Jack Black bumble-fucking around Lizzo and Christopher Lloyd giving robots viruses to make them murder. Or whatever the fuck was happening in that episode… god damn.

Really enjoyed Thunderbolts. The only thing holding it back from a HIGH-high rating is this standard overly bantery-quippy humor they don’t seem to want to reign in. Much in the dialogue in the first hour feels at least fifteen years dated to me. Some later on works, though. 1/2

Early Thunderbolts reaction is super encouraging to me. “It’s some of Marvel’s darkest material to date, dealing with the emotional wreckage of broken individuals grappling with their past choices and finding camaraderie amidst the emptiness of their lives”

Exactly this.

Took them a few tries, but the new Thunderbolts trailer is actually decent and has me willing to watch it now. Look, I’ve been following this whole Marvel saga thing since I was freshly old enough to drink. If the movies are good, I enjoy the characters and adventure.

That new Superman footage has me full body euphoric.

I started the new Naked Gun trailer with my arms folded. Then Liam Neeson called himself “Frank Drebin” and I got angrier. Then what they do after made things right in the world and I’m very pleased and satisfied. LISTEN I grew up watching those movies ok. They did right by Leslie Nielson.

Megan 2.0 looks amazing. We need more batshit movies like this. Also horror continues to pilot the ship on making sequels that are just wildly different than the original, which is a good thing. youtu.be/IYLHdEzsk1s?...

Happy #TransDayOfVisibility to all the trans and enby homies, I love you

I am unapologetically pumped for Fantastic Four: First Steps, Avengers: Doomsday and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. They always rope me back.

The Woman In Black 2 would be a perfectly good sequel if it wasn’t loaded with fake jump scares. Has that patented Hammer atmosphere I love & zero pretenses about what it is. Always a plus for me. I enjoyed watching it after passing on it for 11 yrs, but why u gotta do dat? Just scare me properly.

Oh absolutely

Hell yes.

Every once in awhile I remember that in Chucky Season 3, there’s a scene where Chucky has a doctors appointment and is asked to turn his head and cough. I miss this show.

I’m honestly kicking myself over not seeing Wicked in theaters. It didn’t need my help, but I need movies like this and their help. This is a bright, thoroughly heartfelt and positive experience without at all feeling superfluous. It’s also the best 4K disc I’ve maybe ever seen. The use of color…

Coming to 4K UHD in May from Arrow Video Jason Goes to Hell (1993) 4K UHD MORE INFO TBA #FilmSky #physicalmedia #Bluray #4KUltraHD #Horror #HorrorCommunity #4K #4KUHD #fridaythe13th #JasonGoestoHell

Saw Wicked. It definitely earned its success. As soon as it starts with the 1930s into 1940s era Universal logo all cleaned up and looking grand it had me appreciative. It feels worthy of that era of musical. Loads of heart, important and highly relevant themes, and Cynthia Erivo deserves the Oscar.

Sold at seeing Tim Robinson is in it alone. Oh my god what’s this gonna be youtu.be/cmSPwZIZu6Y

Terrence Malicks’ A Hidden Life is exactly what I needed. Took me over five years to see it, but cinema is patient. His marriage of music/sounds and imagery is so soothing, the spirituality never cloying. It’s all just /right/. It’s a story we need now (more than in 2019) as well.

All I can do is submerge myself in art. I can also finish my writing… what’s happening is too vile to really think about. One of the worst parts for me is that I’m the only one in my immediate family that seems to realize it that isn’t my fiancé. This is day two. What’s year two going to look like?

@conanthecontrarian.bsky.social ‘s The Wolfman is one of the best horror remakes ever. I cared throughout, I was sweating throughout, was in awe with the balance of allegory & pure terror throughout, the performances are great, the directing is great, the cinematography is great, the pacing is great

Losing David Lynch breaks my heart. The man was an unparalleled genius and the last season of Twin Peaks continues to linger in my mind. He had a vision like no other. His art and craft is a blessing that I'll cherish until I see myself out. You made some damn good coffee, sir.
