If you are too young to remember the Iraq War, you'll hear "no one protested" and "no one knew they were lying." Millions of people knew they were lying and protested. The press not only did not want a record of mass dissent; they did not want a record of mass knowledge of lies.

Vance Boelter was a “strong Trump supporter.” A registered Republican. He collected AK-47s. His list of 70 targets consisted of dem lawmakers and activists, & Planned Parenthood execs. MAGA wants to distance itself from Boelter because he affirms what most of us already know about the depths of MAGA

Post a show older than you are

It reads like the "panic reports" surrounding DnD / heavy metal / comic books / insert pet peeve here.

Turns out that the actual main contributor to political violence is the normalization of violent narratives by the media; they keep platforming people calling for dehumanization and oppression of entire demographics of people, and promoting grievance politics from the perspective of cishet white men

These wingnuts are fakes, and they don't care.

We now have a president openly at war with much of the United States, folks. Wheee.

The Atlantic piece on Zohran Mamdani and Andrew Cuomo is full of holes. Mamdani's proposals are picked apart and labeled unrealistic while Cuomo's supposed goals aren't even elaborated on. Cuomo is "an asshole, but he's our asshole"—the New Yorkers who he has sexually harassed might think otherwise

Has @kuer.org, ‪@sltrib.com‬ or any other Utah media outlet reported how Sen. Mike Lee is pretending that a right-wing Trump-voting anti-abortion activist who targeted Democrats is somehow a "Marxist"? Public officials are being assassinated and Utah's shameless senator is pouring gas on the fire.

Daddy also Daddy there's another one Daddy oh and we should consider this other one-word title Daddy and... /gets pummeled

This time-lapse video of protesters marching down Broadway in Oakland for No Kings Day gives an idea of how many people turned out today @sfchronicle.com

The reviews are in. www.indy100.com/politics/tru...

"Again and again, I arrived at the same conclusion without fail: no, my eyes did not deceive me and my standards are not too high and I’m not being unfair. That was, hands down, the worst military parade I’ve ever seen." charlotteclymer.substack.com/p/the-worst-...

Mike Lee has this lie pinned at the top of his Twitter feed. But no mention at all of the shooter who killed one and injured three at the No Kings march in Salt Lake City. Probably still trying to figure out how he’ll claim that guy was a “Marxist” too.

What we learned yesterday. The Times They Are a-Changin'

Grok (powered by XAI, currently poisoning Memphis) didn’t back up Elon’s claim that “the left is murderously violent” — so he’s going to “fix that” 🤔 AI is a propaganda tool of whoever controls it

political press is doing a real disservice by basically not reporting the nuances of public opinion on deportations, and creating the appearance that most americans support the stephen miller-style gestapo tactics

I'm sorry but the largest protest of my lifetime is not the 7th or 8th biggest news story in the country behind "what does Gen Z want from Instagram?" This shit is humiliating. Rearrange your layout to meet this moment. Omitting the thing happening in every American city is malpractice.

Dem leaders want to work with Republicans. Republicans want to destroy Democrats. We know this. So here's a takeaway from the protests: They proved the Democratic approach is unnecessary. We have always outnumbered them. There's no reason to seek bipartisanship. Generate enthusiasm instead.

The MN murderer seems to be Erik Prince without the trust fund. A Christian missionary/anti-communist paramilitary type reminiscent of any number of Christian anti-communists from the Cold War era who would travel the world killing and/or converting people for Christ. fortune.com/2025/06/14/m...

Protests big: defector.com/protests-big

"With the possible exception of the early days of the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests, there have never been THIS MANY COORDINATED PROTESTS on a single day in the United States before. The ubiquity of these protests is historic." (emphasis mine) Dear The @nytimes.com

The wife of a man suspected of killing a Democratic lawmaker and her husband was detained in a traffic stop after police discovered a weapon, ammunition, cash, and passports in the trunk of her car.

Here's NYTs lede for story describing the Marines detaining an American veteran. It doesn't even get the stated purpose for the deployment correct, which is to protect federal resources and law enforcement. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/13/u...

okay so we've got -- DHS goons handcuffing a U.S. Senator -- Marines in LA violating posse comitatus -- political assassinations in MN And that's just, like, the last couple of days

Karen Bass: "There is no comparison [with the 1992 riots]. And unfortunately that is what is being pushed, as though the city is in chaos, there's civil unrest everywhere. For most Angelenos, they're like, 'What city are they describing?' They are definitely not describing Los Angeles."

Bizarrely, it appears that Trump’s nominee to lead the FAA has been lying about holding a commercial pilot license www.politico.com/news/2025/06... #aviation

It's pretty obvious that a lot of US mainstream media either doesn't recognise authoritarianism or doesn't want to call it out. Either way, it's an excellent way to destroy trust in your institution.

According to the latest WaPo/Schar School poll, Trump’s handling of deportations has 37% approval, 52% disapproval. And Quinnipiac has it at 40% approval, 56% disapproval. But @facethenation.bsky.social insists “public approval is so high on deportation.”

A prominent Saudi journalist who was arrested in 2018 and convicted on terrorism and treason charges has been executed, the kingdom said. Activist groups maintain that the charges against him were trumped up.

97% of extremist-related murders in the U.S. in 2024 were linked to right-wing extremists. It’s not a political movement anymore - it’s a hobby for failed men with too much testosterone and not enough brain cells.

Gee, sure would be nice if this kind of thing was actually illegal

The Tea Party protests in April 2009 had about a third of a million people involved, and the political media treated it like a game changer for the Obama presidency. The No Kings rallies were AT LEAST ten times bigger than the Tea Party protests. Will the press keep pretending Trump is popular?

As a 52-year-old, I grew up with domestic right wing terrorist organizations threatening violence daily, and blowing up buildings and killing people periodically, throughout my whole political life: it was the anti-abortion movement.
